If there were no consequences like going to jail and it was just about what some random strangers thought about me, I don't care much at all.
I'm also a gentleman because I don't care so much. So sometimes if someone farts in a small room, I look at them and if they look embarrassed, I tell people I farted. I own their fart. I take responsibility for it as a hardcore gentleman. Because they are still worrying about what other people think about them. I don't worry about that at all.
but do you go out of your way to impress these people?
@LEADFOOTboi caring what people think doesn't mean you're trying to impress them. It can mean all kinds of things: approval, being liked, respected, trusted, or impress.

@Jjpayne Catch me up on a PM!!
i honestly think im the opposite way around. I couldnt care less how I look around my family but like enemies I think I'd want to look my best to like one up em and not give them another reason to bitch bout me
@kaymacd I see what you mean about strangers. I am including "toxic family" in the toxic people, too.
Then you do care because to have people trust you, you need to show them you're trustworthy.
@Wheresthebooze that's why i said... not much
Why do you feel no one cares?
Well I had what I thought were friends and or people that cared at my church like around 30 people. We would share these very personal trials with one another, offer advice to one another, and always say how much we love one another. But whenever I invited them to do a simple service project I would only get about one person that would show up. When I was in church they were like that sounds great. Helping underprivileged children or making headbands for the elderly at the nursing home during winter. It's just my opinion but those types of projects do feel worthwhile to me.I know people are busy but so am I. I work full time and go to college and I'm able to find time to plan these projects and participate in them. I don't feel like 1-2 hours a week is a lot to ask for. I spend more than that setting things up so we can be efficient and do a lot in the short amount of time we have.The response I get when people were not able to make it is: "I forgot" well everytime I send a group text out to let people know. Everytime I get this response I just say it's alright we will have to catch ya next time.It has been like this for almost a year now I just feel like they do not care. I have wasted a lot of my time, time I could have used to do more of the service projects by myself instead of setting up things for a large group. When someone is completely different when you're not face to face with them well that type of thing just confirms to me that they do not actually care.I have also had close family members use me until I realized it, so now I do not talk to those family members anymore.So what I have learned is that the only person I can count on down here to care about me is me.
the question is do you care what people think, not do you care about anyone. You can not care about someone and still care what they think.
@Wheresthebooze why would you care about what someone thinks about you if you don't care about them?
I’m really sorry it hurt reading that, never let it change who you’re you sound nice
because it's human nature. Secretly wanting people you don't like or don't care about to like you or envy you. It's unavoidable. I some people really want to believe that they don't care, but they do.
