How do lawyers feel defending for people that committed terrible crimes?

Anonymous
For instance, OJ Simpson. Ik you get paid a lot of money, but do lawyers find out whether or not defendants actually committed the crime and have to defend that they actually didn’t? Do lawyers feel guilty that someone who potentially killed someone goes free? What goes through their minds when they have to defend someone that’s being tried for murder or other terrible crimes?
