Why are emotions important?

Anonymous
Emotions are useless in the grand scheme of things. They don't provide any value except for comforting others. If people were to stop focusing on allegiances, what makes them triggered, what makes them sad, etc. then we can focus on greater, more important things like monetary gain and the advancement of intelligence and knowledge. It also tends to be the people who think that humans are more spiritual than we actually are that spread their feelings as facts. Personally, I don't care about most things to have any sort of opinion or feeling about it. Politics? Don't care. Someone being racist to me online? Couldn't care less. Insulting my "manhood"? Doesn't bother me. I care only for my monetary gain and how I can advance our civilization together with highly intelligent people. Why even care about emotions at this point?
