Nice. I just wanted to point out that the police in Great Britain aren't normally armed with a firearm, and they have to go through some serious training and evaluation before they're allowed to be."... the test of police efficiency is the absence of crime and disorder, and not the visible evidence of police action in dealing with them."
Well first off the Second Amendment is only misrepresented by you! Second, despite what you think you are not the arbieter of people's rights. "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." The right of the PEOPLE not militias, not the wealthy 1% who can afford bodygaurds, not JUST the government, but the people. Just like the other freedoms recognized by the Constitution they are for the PEOPLE, and they are for Individuals. Disarming the people not only flies in the face of denying them their inalienable rights, it is was every authoritarian from Hitler to Chavez has done."There has not been a single terrorist attack stopped by a bystander with a concealed weapon." That statement like pretty much everything else in this answer is FALSE:https://youtu.be/LflruqEMlVUAlso, depending on what you call "terroism" many more could by in the over 2 Million times that a firearm is used DEFENSIVELY in the US www.semanticscholar.org/.../3a663d85c024baac0d018d7d8bcbca96f19d9964So much so that the founding fathers even allowed CANNONS which were far deadlier than even todays semi-automantic weapons to be purchased and used under the second Amendment. There were also high tech weapons such as early gattling guns, and muskets that could fire 20-30 shots in ONE trigger pull, and primative grenades. Again all covered under the second amendment. https://youtu.be/NKBTlWX5bmQ
" I do not believe I have a God-given "right" to own a weapon..." Once again lucky for us, neither you, governments, Corporations, groups or individuals get to decide what rights we have.
@genuinlysensitive On what basis do you call the Texas attack a terrorist attack? It seems the shooter was mentally ill (he thought he was possessed by a demon) and had no political agenda, although he was angry at the church for not giving him money.Noticeably absent from the coverage was the number of rounds of ammunition the attacker had, or the specific type of shotgun (other than it was a sawed-off shotgun).en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Thomas_KinnunenOn the same day, in Texas alone, there were 9 other people killed and 6 injured.
Why guns (to private citizens) are allowed in U. S? Just asking , is it for self defence, increasing crime rate etc?
As a US citizen, gun ownership is allowed for ALL the reasons you mentioned as well as just because you want to own one. That's what people here talk about the "2A", otherwise known as the US Constitution's 2nd Ammendment. Part of the Amendment reads, "The right of the people to bear arms shall NOT be infringed." (That's my capitalization, not the way the Ammendment appears.) Therefore, gun ownership in the US is extremely high and important. The primary reason for it, was to make certain the people had a way to defend themselves against a tyrannical government, and even overthrow it if necessary.
What some citizens are you implying here?
Citizens who haven’t been convicted of violent crimes and do not have mental conditions that cause violent behavior.
What citizens? ANY citizens that are law abiding, which prob leaves you out, @Asker... lol
Yeah, I am a very bad guy 😂

Hold on, no one's writing a thesis here. Are you comparing guns with shoes and cars? Can you die when hit by a shoe?
Ok your thesis is the overall message of your post, there’s more than one meaning to some words dumbass. I’m saying just as your nation doesn’t give you a car or buy you shoes, neither should your nation give you a gun. You can’t die from a shoe, but you can show how dead your brain is by asking absurd posts like this... 😂🤣
I am not saying that govt should give guns just like that fool. Nothing is free in this world. All I am saying that should possession of guns be legal for a common citizen of the country. That all man!Just because something is written in the constitution, doesn't mean no one can question it. Amendment takes place all the time according to the situations. I just wanted your personal opinion and I got one. Thanks
No actually you didn’t really get my opinion. But oh well...
So if angry protesters have guns (mostly pistol I would say), How would army deal with them as according to US law, every citizen holds the right to buy a licenced weapon (with conditions ofcourse)?
You missed the point; those single-use, marked weapons would be the only ones allowed to most citizens (the usual exceptions would apply for farmers, hunters, etc., people who actually need them as tools, not just for fun, like in other countries). The army shouldn't be dealing with mass protests, politicians should, by not pissing off a large proportion of their population to the point where they're coming for them.I know it's a completely unworkable solution, but in principle...
I think, I basically share your position and idea. However: you can't make a vulture eat only fresh vegetables... it's beyond its perception.
Why do you believe that gun should be a right to possession?
A gun should be a right, if it is considered your own last line of defense, should your life be at risk. Do you want to go out knowing you didn’t have to if you had just had a weapon? In other words, do you want to get murdered like some defenseless dumbass? “Duhhh! I guess you can kill me because I can’t stop you...”
Do you answer for everyone of them? Are you there leader or sth? If you tend to be so cautious in your country it means that crime level is quite high there. In that case I would also carry weapon with myself too.
Because people have the inalienable right to self defense. As these riots have shown, the police can't or won't always be there to protect you.
How? Please brief on this.
So a licence to kill eventually?
No, killing other people should only be allowed in self defense, hence the guns.
Gun used in self defence is also a law I guess
