Have people on social media become very unpleasant since the pandemic began?

Anonymous
It's always been like that, but Covid19 has taken it to a new level. Not just trolls or comedians, but many people have become vicious snobs.

Social media these days is no place to talk to or meet sympathetic or gentle people. If you even *mention* that you're depressed and miss your family or friends, and despite social distancing and staying at home yourself, 90% of the time you'd get berated and called a Covidiot or an "inhumane monster" by grumpy or negative people online.

One person online even called a group of sad-looking schoolchildren "selfish little bastards" who would "probably kill mommy and grandma."

Anyway, I intend to just chat on Zoom or call people, until things continue to settle down and people online aren't so grumpy anymore...
