The problem is excessive force in general with compliant black citizens, not just death.
@Prof_Don no it isn't, because blacks are disproportionately non compliant and that warrants harder use of policing
Just because some odds are higher for a black citizen to be non-compliant , doesn’t mean EVERY black citizen will be non-compliant.Assuming so is not fair, just and objective policing. Each citizen, regardless of ethnicity... should be policed on an individual based, based on the individual situation itself.
@Prof_Don i don't see anyone disagreeing, but george floyd resisted arrest so your point isn't relevant in this situation. you changed your argumentblack people resist arrest. so they are going to appear in the stats more often as getting hurt by police. this is fine
Even if George Floyd did resist arrest... that’s no reason to suffocate him to death by the office placing his knee on his neck for 8 minutes!!!Fuck. It’s not that hard to understand the idea of equal force. Some minor resisting of arrest doesn’t equate to administering torture and causing death! Period. That is “excessive force”, and that happens to my fellow black Americans far too often per capita than other races.
Is it right or wrong... for a cop to suffocate for 8 minutes, and eventually kill, a suspect that is on the ground and handcuffed?
@Prof_Don i think its ok to kill someone who has been convicted 9+ times like george floyd was. we need to stop feeling sympathy for criminals
@007kingifrit Convicted criminals that served their time and are back in society... still have most of their rights as an American. The right of legal due process for George Floyd in that situation, even if he did have priors, was unjustly taken away. Those cops involved, need to be criminally charged and convicted... for taking away George Floyd’s legal rights and deciding to kill him/be complicit in his killing.
@Prof_Don i don't think they should be released. i think after you have had 3+ convictions it should be game over.the laws are too gentle too allowing of repeat offenders back on the streets. this causes cops to get frustrated and that obviously is going to lead to brutality

And the riots and vandalism has NOTHING to do with police brutality or racism. They are just bad left wing people taking advantage of the situation. Robbing stores, some of which are owned by black people.
I am so irritated with the vandalizing rowdy looters, they are taking the spotlight away from the peaceful protests
Reform won't stop killer cops.
But it can reduce the odds of newer recruits joining the force, & cause some crooked cops already on the force to be removed.
Says the anon with no statistics.
@goaded if you wanna see my stats you're going to have to buy me dinner first.
False statistics? Once again the unfair treatment of black citizens occurs, and excuses are made to dehumanize them. 🙄Precisely why “black lives matter” exists.
Good. Social reform in any way, doesn’t happen without consistent exposure.
