I agree...❤there's a huge contradiction in de-funding the police...I think de-funding would make it less possible for further necessary training to occur.
*and that there are
I’ve honestly been seeing the reverse lmfao. -cancel culture -political correctness-blacks who even challenge the BLM narrative are seen as coons, sellouts, etc.Did you happen to hear about the Terry Crews tweet? The good news out of all of this? The majority seems to still support, respect, and find cops to be in a more overall positive light. I think most can see this facade or charade going on everywhere, mob mentality and pressure, as something illogical and quite annoying at this point. Everyone agrees with the sentiment “black lives matter,” but it’s clear the movement BLM isn’t about ALL black lives and many have suspected it’s a front for other goals unrelated to black lives. Kind of like how bills and laws have a bunch of fine print and other things smuggled into it when it was really just about one thing, but small “details” are smuggled in.
Nope nor do I much care what he has to say. And yes I agree, majority still supports the police. The goal of black lives matter isn’t to address everything. It’s meant to address discrimination and violence on the black community by police. It’s in reference to the belief that police largely don’t think black people matter. Personally I’m in favor of reallocation of funds in regards to the police. It’s clear no meaningful change has occurred, not really. Not when cops are murdering people in broad daylight, in front of witnesses and on camera. Too often police get away with crimes against the public, and it needs to change, drastically. I don’t agree with defunding them or abolishing them. That would be foolish and insane. The Seattle zone proved that. But change is needed and this seems to be the only way to get it done.
It’s just odd how the BLM doesn’t focus on the #1 thing, bar none, that is killing its own people... Literally, if it focused on that, things would get exponentially better in all avenues for black people. The cause would even be something mainstream public would fall behind instead of the fallacy of black lives not cared about from police. So many people are turned off to BLM, it’s not going to cause the change that legitimate members what to cause AND it will only serve to re-elect Trump AND divide people further. The sentiment is what everyone agrees with but the movement has turned into some Marxist/power grab movement that does not care about black lives truly.
It’s hardly odd because that’s not what it’s addressing. All? Hardly it won’t do anything to address police brutality and discrimination. It very well could but so far, society hasn’t adequately addressed their concerns. As they say, insanity is when you keep trying the same thing and expecting a different result. So tell me, do you support real and meaningful change in law enforcement? Or are you content with things as they were before all the protests began?
Actually, perhaps I should’ve asked this in the beginning...Why isn't BLM focusing on black on Black Death and violence? It’s not even on their agenda or scope? Why?
Because that’s not what is being addressed. It’s to address a type of grievance that isn’t being adequately addressed by society. Even if they fully stopped black on black violence, they’ll still be left with discrimination and violence by police that won’t have even been addressed.
But the black on black crime isn’t even addressed by society either... if anything, it seems as if there’s steps to not address it because it would make Democrats, who run these inner cities, nervous... AND won’t allow malicious actors to control black people. I just think, police have been getting better overall. Tremendously better. But someone can keep showing videos on YouTube about “police brutality” and it will make the issue appear unsolved when in fact it really is. Look at all of the “new” policies law enforcement agencies are putting in place... These policies have been here for several years already... The things that people want reformed in policing are already in place. 80-90% of a police budget is devoted to salaries... There’s not a lot of money put into “militarization” of police. People want black people to have an enemy that’s NOT other black people. They want black people to hate the system, hate white people, and more because there’s a legitimate cause to be this way (past history) even if it’s not the case today. It’s a power play I’m telling you @Agape93You may be into systematic injustice and racism, legitimately, but it’s not clear that those in power care about this.
I guess we shall see then, won’t we?
I mean, we’re kind of already seeing this play out now. “Sometimes there’s just people who want to see the world burn.”-Alfred from Batman.
Ironically that’s me lol
WHY is that you? Lol
Lol I’ve always had a morbid feeling that I would live to watch either humanity die out, the world ending or the USA falling.
