People are born everyday. Its a constant fight.
@chapawapa On the home front, yes. But that isn't the government's business. Law enforcement exists to protect people from one another; not from themselves.
That's all wrong. New data and research calls for a different approach. People are successful when they tackle issues head on and not a repeated measure aka criminalizing drugs
Prison shouldn't exist anyways.
Correction: who supports this as a mental crisis and do you think Biden or Trump would support it?
I think Biden would be more likely to support the idea of the war on drugs being fought as a mental health crisis but I would bet against either of them doing so (maybe unless Biden picks Warren as his running mate).
I don’t know what more they could do anyway than what’s already been done to help those who seek help
People who suffer mental illnesses don't always make sound decisions (such as seeking help versus turning to drugs). Especially when you factor in things such as the stigma attached to receiving treatment for mental health.
As long as they don’t lock people up in mental institutions without their consent. Those who don’t seek help are kinda a loss cause anyway. Screw the stigma. Anyone on drugs have a problem. Even those who seek help, actually being treated with therapy and supervision and whatnot have a moment of weakness
