The larger problem is not that he's all the things you mentioned. The biggest problem is that all of his followers see him being those things as a positive, not a negative.
@jakerson181 And the even larger problem is how certain groups have managed to manipulate public discourse systematically in such a way, that even people who generally oppose all these things, now believe he (Trump) and his followers are not all those things.Manipulation of language is an extremely powerful tool. The Sophists in Ancient Greece knew it, and the new right-wing extremists know it too.
You both make good points. I think what concerns me most about this whole fiasco of the past 4 years is how many people support him even now that it should be very clear to everyone what he is. I used to think that a pretty large majority of Americans were basically good and decent people and that, while some might get fooled for a while, the majority would catch on to and reject anyone like Trump. The fact that his support numbers are still in the 40 range is very surprising and very distressing to me. I never would have believed that many people would support someone like him.
@CallMeDave I couldn't agree with you more. I think Hillary would have been a great president but even I have to admit, her candidacy was divisive for a lot of reasons. And Trump had spent all his life lying and bullshitting people and was good at it so I can see where in 2016, some decent people who didn't know who he really was, might have been conned by the Trump "show"and were willing to give him a shot. But now after the 4 year long shitshow we've lived through, there is no excuse for anyone with a functioning brain to vote for him again. NONE.
@jakerson181 She was certainly far more qualified and capable. (I can't say 5 times better or 10 times better because any number times 0 is still 0.) She wasn't very likable though and even though I personally care a lot more about policies and competence than likability, I know some people vote based on personality and hers wasn't all that appealing.I think some people voted for him because they didn't like her and wanted to try something different (and he's certainly different) and kind of felt like "let's give it a try because how bad can he be?" I also saw an interview with some guy in Ohio in 2016 that said he was voting for Trump because he didn't think things would get better until America hit rock bottom and he thought that electing Trump was the fastest way to get us to rock bottom. He was right about that last part. I sure hope he's right that things will start getting better afterward and that it will start in January.

Right lol I remember slave holders made friends with their slaves back before the Civil War. I guess they were not racist either? hahahahahahahahahahaha
True. Neither does his 40% supporters how unpopular Trump is in America and around the world. They will stick with him up until he asks them to commit suicide. I do not get how weak minded those people are and cannot think for themselves. Trump thinks and speaks for them I guess.
You are not a person of color obviously. You cannot get the insults, the stereotypes, and actions daily by this poor excuse of a person. The world will see how Americans will paint Trump's butt blue and ship him off to Russia in Nov. Trump is not an even close typical American. Sad actually he barely got elected by mistake.
It does. lol No minority will vote for a clear racist. That is why there were so many riots this summer---all starting from Trump's careless remarks about George Floyd. That pushed everyone over the edge. You do not understand that at all if you are white.
Yes, Trump is setting up his defeat speech as the election being rigged and everyone is against him. lol He will become more and more crazy as election day comes. It will be super fun to watch the Trump meltdown.
