I agree with you there. Through the years I've seen some men act in very sexist ways towards women and some women eat that up. Women get paid less than men in the work force and the unnecessary control of the female body from some men in the health industry has only made it that much more difficult for women. I am sorry that you went through a assault. I dont think anyone deserves that. I think there are quite a bit of things wrong with most of society. One of them being how men and women should behave. Going along with what you said, most rape victims don't even report it because whoever it may be feels as though they won't receive justice. There's the fear of being slut shamed as well.
There are definitely privileges that have allowed me some advantages in life but. I have found that my race also creates pushback in a lot of areas as well. I think a lot of the problem stems from how society has created these expectations about how a person should be based on their cultural background and looks.
Thank you for sharing. All I can say is to make sure you stay safe. Parts of the world that are not as hospitable as some of the men you've met. At one point I think feminism was making long strides in creating a equal opportunity within the work place, Healthcare and societal norms. In recent years it seems as though the feminist movement has turned away from that.
I stay safe. I've never had an issue. I plan on staying in my little corner of the world where things are safe and happy, so we should be good to go.
