I'm just asking how you think you may respond. If you thought wrong then you thought wrong.
@Physics-Man And I answered that: "HOW CAN I KNOW UNTIL I AM IN THAT SITUATION?" How can it be more clear?I'm not some arrogant, macho dickhead, like SOOOOOO many, that think they are 'Rambo' and then they come under fire in Iraq or Afghanistan, and shit themselves and cry like a child!!Yeah, I KNOW SEVERAL guys, that served, and they told me about those guys!!One of the guys I work with, started one of his stories with "The FIRST time, I got blown up. . ." and he is a REAL MAN, A REAL SOLDIER!! He told me about the ones who talked shit, and at the first bullets, and explosions, the crumpled and cried!Don't give me any Bullshit about answering, as nobody can say, until they are there, and facing it. Any fool that thinks they are going to handle it, well, what I heard, is they wuss out, almost to the child. . .
That's the reason why I even said: "If you thought wrong then you thought wrong." So even if the response you give me is not what you'll ultimately do, that's okay. I'm asking for at least something.
@Physics-Man And I gave you my answer: HOW CAN I KNOW? Why can you not accept that as a VALID answer? Are you one of those that only things one way or another, Jedi, or Dark Side?Life is SHADES OF GRAY, in EVERYTHING!!I am not trying to be a dick, and not intending any offense, in any way, but too many people on here post questions, and ASSUME THE ANSWERS, maybe, that they expect, but not REAL ANSWERS, maybe?If you are a "physics man" a person of Science, then you must understand the Hypothesis process:Observation and then Hypothesis, then Proving/Disproving the Hypothesis through experimentation, with proper controls, and controls for personal BIAS!!
It doesn't matter about the quality of the training. The US Army is ranked near the most powerful in the world, and there have been plenty of high ranking Soldiers who cowered or completely froze during engagements with an opposing force.
We're the best funded Army in the world.
Hmmm I can imagine that depends on the dimensions of the engagement then. In my mind, i. e. the first bullet being fired right next to your helmet and you’ve no real way to fire back is gonna be different than some potshots. I’ll answer: dunno then
And no, that some do that does not imply that quality of training is not relevant. It could be the case that the propensity to freeze up is far lower with training
In your initial reply, you didn't respond with that. You never mentioned or suggested that the propensity to freeze up would be decreased with an increase in quality training, but suggested that freezing up wouldn't be an issue.
"We generally don't hear about people who cry for their mommy or freeze up..."Not true. My leadership tell me stories of it happening to high ranking senior Soldiers all the time.
Yes, we're all the expected to do that. But that doesn't mean we will or will respond like they want us to. How do you think you'd respond?
As a person who has had literally no military or soldier training, I have no idea. I don't have enough information to provide a substantive answer.
What is an SA80?
@TwoToTooTutu2 well an L85 A3
That's quite impressive, but have you heard of the MK19?
@TwoToTooTutu2 have you heard of the HK GMG,?
You shoot that? How about a Browning?
@TwoToTooTutu2 trained to shoot it but not with live ammo.We use the Browning 50cal though we have a different designation. We don't have the range of equipment you guys get but we do have good stuff that's up to the job.
Do you guys use M240Bs?
@TwoToTooTutu2 L7 (FN MAG). We had the SAW for about 10 years but we are going back to the old L7 and L85 light support machine gun from what I hear, the saws will be kept just incase and probablysold just beforewe need them. Personally I'd like to see us adopt the HK416 like the US & French army or mr27 like the us marines.
Well I am a gunner on a truck so I don't mess with rifles all that much.
@TwoToTooTutu2 was a Sapper myself.
Does that fall under Engineers in the British Army?
@TwoToTooTutu2 yeah Royal engineers. Best thing I ever did, I've training so many different things and licences for just about every wheeled vechile imaginable.
You ever goo to Fort Lenard Wood Missouri?
@TwoToTooTutu2 Camp Bastion is about as far as I've been outside the UK
I've seen a lot of UK soldiers there. Their either Engineers or MPs.
because he's a bully coward, not a warrior.
@Conspiracy_Theorist because I don't support killing people for some politician.
Pfft it’s not a politician running things, it’s the CIA and Mossad running things... much more different, the president is on a need to know basis, they don’t give much intel. ISIS was created by the CIA Just like how the taliban was created and funded by “Tim Osman” and the CIA.War is money either way.
See people want to believe that the president or certain politicians have all the control with the country and the wars, but that’s not the case, they any be able to initiate a war, but they don’t tell you about those who control it, behind closed doors.The president and the 8 senators on the need to know line, are just puppets.The real people with powers are those that have already infiltrated those countries people, tech and resources.Kinda like how 9/11 was an excuse to go to war for Petro dollar, initiated by the CIA and many others
It's a "What if?" question. How do you honestly think you'd respond or react?
I genuinely don't know. I think it would be too presumptuous to make a claim. I voted D.
