You pay that much for an oil change? Taking it to the dealer? The tech is likely only receiving 17 bucks at most for his own billable labor. Filter, oil, and oil disposal likely cost the shop who buys in bulk and disposes in bulk - maybe another 12 bucks. The service rep maybe gets 15 bucks for the write up. So that is 44 bucks. The remaining $306 is going to the dealership’s owner and general manager. Even the technicians are getting ripped off by dealerships. ... and yes, that mechanic who did the steering work was passing on some serious savings.
