How many modern day activists are just a bunch of ahem *losers with "nothing better to do with their time"?

And if that characterization is true, how many activists in past civil and human rights causes that we idolize were "nobodies" (and rediculed as such by the reactionaries in power) until they found a cause worth fighting for and making a difference in?

If you don't get the satire, I'm not saying that activists are a bunch of low lives, I'm saying that someone who had previously been wasting their life taking up a just cause is a good thing.
