Do you mind your tax $$$ going to this synthetic nature overpass?

It is something that is very common in many parts of the world and helps to reduce the impact of so called "ecological islands" - areas that have been cut off from the surrounding ecosystem. This is usually due to human activities ( i. e. roads , forest fires , bridges , mining , even bike paths) The risk that the flora and fauna of these ecological islands run is isolation from food , water , potential mates , over-exposure to predators and also habitat and space reduction.

Overall it is a good idea. It helps to stabilize areas that have been impacted by human activity.

I mean 21% of our taxes go to prisoners so why shouldn't I be okay with this? I don't think people in this country understand how many hidden fees of there are of their taxes from their pay check going to places they don't even know they are going. Like in your pay check its not going to say prison tax cause then people would be protesting like crazy so they hide it under somewhere called state and local on your paycheck. It's amazing how little logic people have on here and in general. Their argument for not wanting this synthetic nature overpass passed is ludacris at best and stupid at its worse. Which by the way this is the first time I've ever heard about this tax too. I didn't even know about this, but that's our government for yah. So by default if pay taxes for prisoners then of course I would be okay with paying this type of tax for animals.

Vivant I support structures like that to facilitate what wildlife officials and conservationists call connectivity. It's a way of mitigating habitat fragmentation and alleviating road kill. It's my understanding that in some places they also use underpasses for wildlife.

As for me I like unusual things & as for the animal overpass it’s a wonderful idea & I’m sure it actually saves money in the long run & saves animals lives as well. If you think about it how many accidents are caused due to animals running in traffic & if a bridge can cut that number down that will save the tax payers money too.

No. I support it. I just hate tax dollars being spent on a over inflated military budget year after year while in an infrastructure bill hasn't been made in a very long time, health care still isn't universal, education quality isn't increasing and other social programs needed for the environment among a few other things.

why are we building bridges for animals? shouldn't we have realized how dumb this was? it wasn't for the animals at all. we needed a road so we built one through a zone. i don't think that walkway was a bad idea, but it's going to mess up the ecosystem for some animals

Besides the good nature of making sure humans and animals are safe, it will save a lot of time, money and potentially lives. Reducing road clean up from hitting animals or hitting something trying to avoid them.
