Slightly off-topic, but still in the "hypocrisy" category: I thought we were supposed to be "mending relationships" with our allies and promoting middle-class blue-collar union careers (me being an example)? I guess Canada and the Keystone XL Pipeline jobs don't count.

I read the story about how Google acquired YouTube. YouTube was started as a computer science project by two young guys. Google tried to compete with their own site called Google Videos. They couldn't compete with YouTube, so they sent a representative to the school to meet with the two guys. The guys said they would never sell out to the "man." Google corrected them, and offered them each a billion dollars. A billion dollars goes a long way to paying off your college debt.

Google could have never competed with Android, so they just made them an offer they couldn't refuse.
If they can afford to pay two college students a billion dollars each, how hard would it be to buy all of congress?

Just one round trip international flight across either ocean pollutes the atmosphere more than a commuter driving in a car to and from work every day for YEARS. Total hypocrisy.

@Avicenna Well, stopping the Keystone XL Pipeline was by immediate executive order right after Biden's inauguration, so there wasn't much Manchin could've done in that particular moment. I don't expect Manchin to not consistently vote with his fellow Democrats during Biden's administration, but I'm fairly certain that he won't be a shill for the liberals and socialists either. He still represents a very blue-collar state that voted for Trump at a 70% clip in the last two presidential elections.
