For America continent's citizens, is it annoying that whenever anyone says "America", they refer to USA?

Yes. I've always thought it was weird. The thing is that until recently it's been almost entirely people from other countries who call it that. I virtually never hear Americans call the country America. It's become more common to see Americans call it that online. I think they are picking it up from people in other countries.

It basically comes from England in the old days, referring the their colonies in N. America.
