Does anyone else blame Trump for Covid?

He put a travel ban on only China instead of just doing an international travel ban similar to Australia, and New Zealand. I get Trump loved foreigners but that’s not an excuse.

Travel bans does not protect you from pandemics, it only gives you a bit of extra time to prepare. During Covid19 even the most dictatorial and physically enforced travel bans only slowed the infection down by a few days. Trump is still obviously to blame but the strategy to beat a pandemic relies on early testing, isolation and test and trace. If you can stop the infections early then you can prevent the outbreak entirely fairly easily.

This is the difference between the successful countries and those who failed. Countries like New Zealand could tell you who was infected and how they infected other people down to the likely instant. An example would be how they identified a transmission from an elevator button that an infected person used earlier.

Its not often George W Bush is held up as being intelligent but here we are, even he understood the need to prepare for a pandemic. Anyways this was not his view in particular, it was the view of USA. It recognized the threat that a pandemic posed and put in place countless preparations such as emergency groups that could quickly take action, extra resources that could be used, experts sent to places like China to observe and report back on the status of possible pandemics, handbooks that would outline the best course of actions and responses in case of a pandemic and more.

If there was one country that should have done well during this pandemic it should have been USA of course all this was dismantled or ignored during Trump.

But if you’re looking to blame someone, St. Fauci is a more likely candidate- after all he said on Jan 2020 that he didn’t think the virus would make it to the US. I have a close friend who moved out here about a year ago and a close cousin who's lived here for about a decade. They don't know each other. Just a coincidence they both live here, but it made it convenient. Also, Fort Worth is the 2nd best city in the nation for job seekers (I lost my job in Cali to shutdowns). And Ft Worth outclasses Dallas by a mile (just my opinion). Its such a nice city. Beautiful down town with no little or tagging anywhere and everyone is unbelievably nice compared to Cali. But, I'm looking for a place in Arlington so it's pretty central.

Those fires burned some of my favorite places in the world, such as Big Sur and wonderful spots in the Sierra National Forest such as Shaver Lake. Luckily, much of Shaver was saved, but all the surrounding land was burned. It was exacerbated by a bark beetle that's always been around, but about 5 years ago there was a 5 year drought and during the time, the trees all became very sick from the beetles, not having their usual energy to fight the beetle off and they didn't have enough time to recover.
