I don't think Trump can be re-elected in 2024; any efforts on his part would splinter the conservative vote and give the election to the Democrats. I think the times have changed too much and there is too much water under the bridge for Trump to recover. I would strongly favor Ted Cruz as a candidate. My governor, Ron DeSantis, ir rising in national prominence but I think he needs a few year in Washington before he is ready to make a run at the presidency.

I'd vote for them. That said I don't know if he will run or not. I think age is a factor, he will be 76 by that point so I think that is a concern (If he was younger he would absolutely run, I don't think its a lack of will but rather time is working against him). That said his mind is all their (the same cannot be said of Biden), so if he continues to be mentally sound (which I feel like he probably will) and with no health issues, I think he will run. If he does, as I said I would definitley vote for him.

Won't this depend much on what the Republican Party wants to be? If they elect Trump to run again that will mean the party have definitely taken on a new form. Unlike before, they definitely know what they will get. They might also win, I think it's too early to call. I think it will give them a challenge though. If you double dip on Trump, you have given your party a solid new identity - and one that will be hard once Trump is too old or no longer qualifies. Who is like Trump?

Another angle is, what would this mean for Americas allies? Its very difficult to be friends with a schizophrenic. The Democrat v Republican gulf is too wide

It's possible, and he would have supporters too, since as Stephen Hawking noted, he's a demagogue who appeals to the lowest common denominators, of course what he said sounds good to people with low intelligence. They exist now and they will still exist in 2024. You are unlikely to find these people in tech companies or in academia since most of them can't form complex thoughts, or finish basic education, but you might find them on some internet forums like QAnon

I doubt it. He is already pretty old. That is 4 more years he'd have to wait...4 years older and the serve out that term, if he did win in 4 years... it would be 8 years from today until the end of that term. I doubt it... too old. He may die by then.

No, Trump will not be re-elected and for lots of reasons. Most of them being the same reasons that prevented him from being re-elected in 2020. However, Trump will also be 78 and I don't think Melania - if she's still his wife and he didn't replace her with Wife #4 - wants all that bullshit again. Lots of former First Ladies are relieved to no longer be in that position.

It is always hard to unseat an incumbent President, especially with approval rating above 50%, which Joe Biden seems to be hitting compared to Trump's approval rating which never climbed above 50% throughout his 4 years in office.
