What if the world went back to the Ice age?

First of all, going by geological history, we are actually long overdue for the next ice age. Most of earth's history has been spent under ice with shorter warm periods in between. The entirety of human civilisation arose and has existed in one such period which is already unusually long.

Also, even if it were to start tomorrow, it would take decades if not centuries to notice any substantial difference.

It would be a bad thing. Most people would starve to death. War would rage over arable land around the globe… Food supplies around the world are already in jeopardy going into a solar minimum with such a high global population… Personally I’d be fine, but I’d have to adjust what I grow if temperatures where changing. Currently I grow a mix of Mediterranean and tropical/subtropical perennials. If an ice age came I’d just switch to temperate to cold temperate crops most likely. During the last glacial maximum my region was semi-arid temperate woodland. My garden is around 5 acres so food is not really an issue… There are also excellent freshwater and saltwater fisheries here. My neighbors are for the most part have their own homesteads with livestock and large gardens. One of my neighbors volunteers at a charity food bank and she is always offering me free annual vegetables as well because there is way too much donated by local farmers. Heating wouldn’t be much of an issue here.

The Ice Age is too brutal for everyday humans to survive. The only ones who may have a chance are those who already live in arctic conditions. They're literally born and bred for it. Lighter skin folks can survive that better than darker skin folks. Genetics plays a big role. Not just the ability to know how to hunt, protect and preserve heat.

Some people would obviously survive. There are people today who live in very cold, inhospitable regions. But there would be a huge, mass extinction. I don't think I would survive for long, nor do I think I would want to.

I like the cold, at least to a degree. Sufficient food would be an issue, so it's hard to say if there's enough to eat after most crops die off. other issue is keeping home warm.

I'd try to find a way to grow micro greens and such indoors in grow lights. I'd eat sea kelp.

good thing... don't know, we'd lose a lot of people if the power goes out and food supplies run down.

It it were like the last, where I live would be like central Canada. I would move to the tropics in a place like the Philippines or Malaysia. It will be upon is in 60,000 years. The interglacial is ending.
