Why does the whole world hate Communism? Isn't it the right of every human being to live equally regardless of class?

- All men were not created equal.
This is the truth. I like communism but the part where people are pitched against each other is wrong1|00|4Is this still revelant? What is the part where people are pitched against each other is wrong? Can you explain?
And if all men are not created equal then there is something wrong with god, what do you think about this?
God is not wrong. He is testing us all in our most vulnerable way. He chooses whoever he gives and whoever he takes away.
One day you are rich and next you are poor, would you stop believing in God? I don't think so.
As for pitched against each other, all I can say is that if someone is a master over us does it really mean he is automatically bad? No, it doesn't.
If a wealthy man was your mster and suddenly you start developing hate against him because of his wealth is wrong. He certainly might be more pious or not. We can't say for sure.
But in communism many rich or well off people were seen with disgust.
Was it not the jealousy of the people that killed many Kulaks?- Show All Show Less
If he is bad then wouldn't it be that we asked that God gave everyone no desire in their hearts. We are different from Angels. They are bound to God's will but humans have freewill.
Communism isn't bad in itself but it was a cleverly used too in hands of people.
Who wouldn't agree with communism if they know they can simply rebel and hope to become master of a countryOnly this caught my attention; why do you refer to god as "he"? 🤔 God is not a guy, is a lifeless being.
You said you love communism (that's why I choose you) but I don't understand what you're arguing about right now. Lol
There are inherent problems in the communist idea which we experienced in the 20th century. Everyone was not equal and neither can they ever be.
But what I like about communist states is that they provided free education to everyone, healthcare was free and there was job security.
What I didn't like was the Pogroms and the purges of 1920s and 30s.
You could actually live a decent life there as a citizen but there were problems with how it was created. People who were wealthy were brought out of their homes and humiliated and shot.
Why were they responsible if they were smarter than others?
And second argument is people can live in harmony as unequals provided they respect each others
I have difficulty understanding those who declare communism to be a dictatorship. That's why communism is a good thing. People can benefit from everything for free and as much as they want, everything belongs to the state. Is there anything as beautiful as this? On the other hand, capitalism is always on the side of the rich, and the poor are always homeless or unable to even find bread to eat.
Communism had it's rich as well.
Do you think Stalin, Josef Broz Tito, Ceasescu, Mao and all of them were equal to normal citizens of the communist state. Of course not.
I prefer communism overall capitalism because they helped build housing, health, and education and facilities which I don't think a normal person can afford in a capitalist state. And above both rule of law is very importantSo most of the commentators here must be from a country like pakistan so that they know the value of Communism. Now they live in a rich and free country so they are hostile to Communism. If they lived in islamic countries like pakistan, they would understand that Communism is a just regime for people. Am i wrong?
Why you do always give an example of communism with the old and with these leaders like it. The communism of our age is not going to resemble the old communism. we are in the 21st century now and a free communist regime can be created.
Problem with capitalism is that it achieved what communism. Make the exploited consent to that exploitation.
I know many rich people are good at heart.
I know I am well to do person but I am upset with capitalism.
Where will my country's rich including myself will take the money to if we can't build it? 43% illiterate people, 12.7 milliob housing units shortage, lack of healthcare, exploitation of the workers.
Richest man in Pakistan can build 100 skyscrapers to remove the shortage of housing every year but he won't? Why not is mind boggling.I wish I was able to help poor people but I probably will never be able to do it.
Look at capitalist banks. They give more and more loans to the rich people the poorer you are the less you get in charity and AID as well@mydisgustingfather
How do you think it will happen? In 21st century the control of capitalism has increased many fold.
Judiciary being bought, the single source where people can be equal is in eyes of law but still they get bought with moneyThough we should not forget that most people want communism because they can't accept someone else being wealthier than them

do you know? @AmeerX it's really painful. If you have money today, there is justice, if you have money you are strong, if you have money, you are human. otherwise you're a loser, useless person, because you're poor and no one cares.I wish I was able to help poor people but I probably will never be able to do it.
Look at capitalist banks. They give more and more loans to the rich people the poorer you are the less you get in charity and AID as well
And rich people don't like communism, of course. communism brings the rich and the poor to the same level. and this is going to their trouble.Though we should not forget that most people want communism because they can't accept someone else being wealthier than them
Yes maybe. But communism seems to be the plague of our times, and everybody cites some communist leaders and a few communist countries as an example. this is really boring. I'm tired of hearing these now.Why are you tired? You are just19 years old.
I care for poor people. I know I can't bring them to my level but I can try.
If a person is poor it doesn't mean he is a nobody. He is surviving the life and I think we should respect them same as rich peopleExactly. and if you're rich why don't you help poor people.
my age an obstacle for me to get tired? life and inequality is difficult, don't you think? But I mean I'm sick of hearing some stupid examples of communism.Your age isn't an obstacle but like you when I ask the same exact thing about corruption and lawlessness in my country what I am told is this.
"Who are you to question, millions others are not saying anything so why do you have a problem"
This above sentence is the problem for me. People love being oppressedConsidering how much gold digging girls do these days. Do you expect another girl to be pro communism?

What did I say? 🤔Considering how much gold digging girls do these days. Do you expect another girl to be pro communism?
What? How so?As for gold digging. I have seen many girls who refused to marry a poor or average person and went for rich guy.
And as for communism or anti extreme Inequality supporters. People don't give jobs to them, you won't get married easy, your pay is lowest even if you had the best performance, and people pick on you.
That's from experienceSo you are left out of the society. Do you think a girl will marry me if I was poor? I certainly don't, at least not from my country. I might have to search the world
If you are rich, I think your dm box will be filled here by gold digger girls and sugar daddy hunter girls. And that's a good thing I think if you have money you can buy the prettiest but most unskilled girl with money.
And if you are rich why do you like communism, I'm confused. 🤔Because you can't buy real friends based on money. Because I can't feel happy that my money is useless because people can't read and write on one hand and on the other hand there are PhDs.
Because I can't accept that people have money but they are not using it to save the people from the environment. Because my dear, I want them to have at least a bare minimum level of facilities left for them which I would like for myself and my family if I get poorWhat good is a sugar baby that doesn't know what to speak and lack etiquettes because they never went to school even
Why are you laughing 😅? I wasn't funny. When I see ex Soviet states, their people should be thankful that they can read and write.
I feel pity when people are unable to read or write and yet be wise and intelligent but can't convey because of this handicapBecause you are telling strange things, you are a rich muslim arab but you love communism. you are interesting.
What good is a sugar baby that doesn't know what to speak and lack etiquettes because they never went to school even
I guess you know sugar babies are used for sex. and I think you shouldn't be unfair to them. they are also cultured.I am not Arab😂. I am not extremely rich like them
Oh my allah (I said this for you.) 🤣More important than both capitalism and communism is justice.
Without it who will enforce the laws? Can a person get justice in a corrupt capitalist society or the ruthless communist state?
Probably not, because the judge will favor against a downtrodden person in both societies. One based on money and the other based against corruption. End result is people getting less than what is promised by either systemI wrote these in separate comments, if you are aware, and I don't really understand what you mean. 😑
- Because capitalists own the media and they hate communism, so they got everyone else to, too.1|12|2Is this still revelant?
“Capitalists own the media”. Okay by that Logic do you believe the media is conservative?
Mostly, yeah. There are a few leftish outlets but they are largely underfunded or otherwise intentionally misrepresent liberal ideology so as to omit criticism of their capitalist sponsors.

364- Because communism is a totalitarian ideology that contradicts itself and oppresses the people. Here are some of the many problems with communism
- It suppresses religion
- It destroys cultures
- It forces collectivism
- It politicizes science
- It scapegoats and persecutes certain groups including dissidents
- It mistreats prisoners
- It mistreats the mentally ill
- It infringes on freedom of expression
- It censors information and the arts
- It implements poor agricultural practices leading to scarcity of food
- It implements bad economic practices leading to poverty
- It doesn’t let people own private property.
- It seeks to expand like an empire.
- It forces conformity
- It uses secret police forces to intimidate the people
- It uses prison camps
2|211|1- Show All Show Less
First off, this isn't about right or wrong. It's about opinions. I'd suggest looking into Yugoslavia and how their system worked. They didn't suppress religion. Religion was one of the major causes of the Yugoslavian war. It didn't destroy culture there. You can can find the typical mediterranean culture there. It was never destroyed or discouraged. Science is politized in capitalist countries as well, you see with COVID-19 currently how much politics influence scientific decisions and guidelines. Subcultures and minorities aren't persecuted. In Yugoslavia, you had the non orthodox Christian minority among Orthodoxes and Muslims. They weren't persecuted. Neither were Jews.
Prisoners are mistreated and treated very differently in among all kinds of countries. Do I have to remind you of Guantanamo? Compared to the US, you have a luxury life as a prisoner in Europe. Same applies to mentally ill. Only because the Soviets did bad things due to their political structure, it doesn't project to the economical system. Freedom of expression is related to the political structure as well. Just like censoring. Poor agriculture isn't a thing either. Not even in East Germany, you had any food shortage. You couldn't buy Bananas due to the Cold War and its limited trade, but you had plenty of food available, including meat. Bad economic practices are indeed common in socialist countries but they are more the result of political agendas and the implementation of the socialist structure. Just look at China and where they got so quickly, economically speaking only. It means that a good plan can also lead to economical growth in planned economies. It doesn't let people own private property? This I call bullshit. You could own private property in Yugoslavia. You can own private property in China. The extension politics is related to politics and not to the economy. I'm repeating myself. Conformity? Limited to the common goal, nothing more unless politics get involved. I can't tell you much about secret services but it's not like the US isn't spying on their own people and even considering the use of drones against them. Not to mention how the US police treats minorities and black people. If you're checked because of your skin color, that's no intimidation? Prison camps can be found everywhere where the political system requires it. Look at today's Russia. Completely capitalist today but they kept their secret service and their prison camp. You can't express yourself freely.
@lonelyfortune alright you brought up some points. Thank you for using logic.
But can you give me total estimate of how many unarmed black men who were killed by the police in 2019? Seriously just give me a rock solid hard number estimate of what you think (10, 100, 1000+, etc.).@guesswhoseback I have no idea. I don't even have an idea for killed people by the police in general. Maybe 50.
Hey guys? What are you discussing? Are you talking about a state issue? Be calm, neither the Communist nor the fascist cares about your arguments. Communism is just a dream of good people that will not come true. So much. There is no issue to be discussed. 😉
@mydisgustingfather I don't expect anything to change. I still appreciate discussion if they're reasoned.
Which one do you defend? And also I'm already the one asking the question, I don't want you to tag my username, okay? @lonelyfortune
@lonelyfortune close. It was 29. Of all police interactions across the ENTIRE nation with the African American community it was only 29 killings of unarmed African Americans. That is an abysmally tiny percentage of all police confrontations. But it doesn’t seem that way does it? .
When an incident does occur (and gets videotaped and propagated through the mass media) everybody loses their shit.
That’s not say incidents like George Floyd are acceptable. They are sure as hell not. But the story the mass media is telling that there is a genocide of African Americans males by racist white police is an astronomical lie. That lie is being contorted to push other political agendas like communism. Which is ridiculous mental gymnastic bullshit.
However there are very real pain points that the younger generations have to deal with including skyrocketing college tuition, healthcare costs and real estate prices. I’m not ignoring those. But I do NOT for a f*cking second believe communism is “the answer” to that. People in Cuba might have “free” healthcare and college. But look at what that system has done to the entire society.@guesswhoseback It's still 29 too many. I also don't know how many cases are made to disappear. But this is a general problem of police justice. It's also a problem in Europe. When weapons are invented after police brutality. So it wasn't unarmed. These cases only come to light when someone had their smartphone at hand and filmed the whole mess. And these cops are allowed to keep their jobs. Nothing changes. This is a general problem not only affecting black lives.
I don't think black lives matter has anything to do with communism. No idea where you fetched this idea. It's being politized. But the movement is an expression of deeper problems how the US has treated the black community for many years. Opportunists use this of course, for marketing of their brands, or for political reasons. But your democratic party is far far away from anything communist. I'm sure they appreciate that people in the GOP put them into this corner because this distracts from the real problems and why a closed circle of people has access to political instruments, offices, and power. In Europe, we have mixed systems, so basically far more "communism" than the US. We're living fine. We have health care, all kinds of insurances, infrastructure is funded and owned by the states in many countries. It's not perfect here either because we have the same problem with this new kind of corruption. Where political decisions are bought by donations to a party and by job promises for the time after your own political career.@lonelyfortune Typical communist apologist with a touch of tu quoque.
There’s always exceptions to the rule. Yugoslavia being one of those exceptions. Then again many don’t really consider Yugoslavia to have been an actual communist country as it didn’t get along with the Soviet Union. Not to mention that it respected freedom of religion unlike most other communist countries that infringed upon freedom of religion in some way.
And before you say “oh but what about Vietnam and Cuba?” well they’ve had political reforms after the Cold War and can hardly call themselves communists anymore.
- Because communism has never been about equality. In order to be communisitic you have to be totalitarian and authoritarian. Your not asking for equality, your demanding that all others obey you or die (because that is the only options they have, to either obey or to be imprisoned and if they resist that to be killed). This is also why socialism/communism is responsible for more deaths in 100 years then the Iraq war, afganistan war, desert storm, kuwait, vietnam war, korean war, WWII, WWI, Spanish American war, Civil war, Mexican American war, Indian American wars, War of 1812, American revolutionary war, the Spanish Inquisition, the 100 years war between france and spain, and all nine crusades, COMBINED.
If you where asking for equality you would be demanding that the government stay out of your business, to only ensure that no one is violating the law and personal freedoms.
That way all people have the same chance to make it as any other person. But your not demanding that, your demanding that those you feel have more then you be punished, that the government come in and put a gun to the head of those you feel have "to much"(with no real care as to how hard they worked, or saved, or what they did to get that money and wealth to begin with (not very equal if your not considering what one did to get that money (if I work eighty hours a week and some one only works fourty, I have more but I gave up more to get it. If I take a high risk job and make more then some one who took a low risk job with lower pay, I am risking more to get more. That is equality yet communism ignores those factors).
The irony in this is that those with the most wealth and most power actually support communism specifically because it doesn't create an equal playing field. Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, and all those tech giant billionaires are pushing for higher minimum wages, why? Because they know that they have enough wealth that they can afford it but their competition can't, those just starting out can't. So by demanding government intervention they can shape the playing field so that only they benefit from it. They all got to where they where using capitalism, this is undeniable, yet now they demand we get rid of specifically because capitalism allows people to move up and potentially dethrone those who are wealthy and powerful, socialism/communism on the other hand ensures that only those in power now, continue to have power which is why its always failed every single time its been implemented without a single exception.0|11|0 - LOL You're 19 so i will forgive your lack of understanding of history and economics. Communism offers no incentive to better ones self, It leads to nationalization of all industry. Innovation stagnates. And honestly Look at Venezuela what happened to them because of communism. No single country has been innocent of the consequences of it when they choose communism. It leads to famine and death. There have literally been more deaths in communist countries due to extreme poverty and genocide than every single capitalist country combined on the planet. But hey, you're 19, and have not really earned anything in life.
Need good examples of this, Look at north Korea and Venezuela, Only an idiot chooses communism.https://listverse.com/2013/01/17/10-reasons-why-communism-sucks/
0|21|0LOL No im not a trumpist or what ever idiot thing you said to me.. You do understand that most Dems and Republicans do not support communism, Only leftist idiots do. Thank god the rest of the country is intelligent enough to see how bad communism is.
You cannot call leftists stupid. There is no rule that everyone will be rightist. And we see which ones are more conscientious. I think you should respect everyone. Why If both are so bad not ban? tell me, i wonder about it.
I make fun of the left and right, right now it's the left that's the worst. I mean making laws decriminalizing pedophilia in California... Fuck that.
- Show All Show Less
California, A leftists utopia, has decriminalized sex with a minor, if that minor is over the age of 10. They have legalized sex abuse.
- You should have equal rights but if you don't work equally as hard as the person next to you then you should not live equally as well.
Blaming society for being a lazy blood sucking leech and changing the system so you can legally steal what belongs to them is an always failing endeavor. It's been tried and it's always a failure.
And the ignorant masses that support it are still the ones that stay at the bottom because the rich will not cede power. But they will walk around their million dollar mansion and show off their $5000 refrigerator and eat some expensive ice cream on video and idiots will still vote for her as she gets more pay raises and raises your taxes and doesn't fix anything.
It's great that you asked the question. I'm not saying that my answer is best. A lot of really smart people responded with some awesome comments. I see a lot of those comments all have one down vote by a girl. Maybe you, maybe not. Just because you want something to be isn't enough. Look at history with your realist glasses on, not your idealist glasses.
Everyone is of equal worth, not everyone will do equal work.0|00|0 - Wow... it's amazing how every new generation has to learn the same lesson, and hopefully not the hard way.
The problem with communism is that the fantasy communism that is described in the definition of it DOES NOT AND HAS NEVER EXISTED.
It's kind of like describing a place with rainbows and unicorns and asking why that wouldn't be a great place to live. IT DOESN'T EXIST.
Every place in the world throughout history where communism has been tried, you end up with a tiny corrupt rich ruling class of people, and an underclass of oppressed poor people who are under authoritarian rule, have no rights, and struggle just to live their daily lives. It always starts out with corrupt politicians promising the people a utopia if they will only give up their power and grant it to them. It goes from there to authoritarian rule when the government turns on its own people and makes them captives.
So to answer your question... the problem with communism is THAT IT DOES NOT WORK. The textbook definition is A FANTASY.
And PS the same is true of socialism. Socialism is communism without a gun. If you want to talk about the real world, then no, equality of wealth is NOT a desirable goal. If you aim for that goal then you might achieve it. But it will mean everyone is equally poor. The goal to aim for is equality of OPPORTUNITY. Equality of wealth is tyranny because it cannot happen without forced government violation of private property and other human rights. Equality of OPPORTUNITY though, such as we have in America is true freedom. Don't be the generation that falls for the socialist/communist lie again. There is a big difference between a textbook definition of a fantasy idea and what actually happens in the real world when people are fooled into believing it.0|11|0Wow, look at biden president 😎 haha
And biden is not a communist, as far as I know. I guess this image is a false image.
And also hitler is a fascist leader, not a communist leader.Yes I know about Hitler. But fascism and communism have a lot in common. Both come about by evil power hungry politicians promising people a utopian society and end up with an authoritarian dictatorship instead. There is no such thing a benevolent rulers. Power ALWAYS corrupts. That is as true about human nature as gravity is to physics. All people of goodwill want a fair society. But communism and socialism are not the way to achieve it. This has been proven over and over and over again throughout history. It seems ever new generation needs to learn this lesson all over again. Communism is responsible for more human suffering in the world than every other system of governments combined.
- Show All Show Less
Do you say that Communism and fascism are the same and that they are both an authoritarian regime and that the state uses force.
I didn't say that communism and fascism are the same. What I said was that they have a lot in common. And yes, in practice they are both authoritarian coercive forms of government where the government holds the power and the people are subject to their will instead of their own free will.
But even if I said they are the same, how does that mean I am defending anarchism. I don't understand why you think that. The state exists for the people. So why do we need a state? But it is, but such government is there (in power) to rule the people.
Not true. In the United States, for example, we have a capitalist republic form of economy and government. America pioneered the concept of LIMITED government. It is the backbone of the American government and constitutional protections. The government does not rule the people, the people rule the government. This is the essence of freedom and the quintessential difference between democracy and the authoritarian top down rule of the real world practice of communism.
I don't support anarchy, I support regulated market capitalism and a representative democracy as we have in America. This form of government economy has created more prosperity and liberty for more people than all other forms of government economies in the history of the human race.
How many people are waiting on line to become citizens of communist China? How about communist Russia? How about communist Cuba? Or how about socialist Venezuela? Are people risking their lives just to make it to make it to their shores so they can kiss the ground when they arrive and thank God that they are free and have opportunities to better their lives for themselves and their families?
Now ask yourself the same questions about America. The answer is 10s of millions every year. More people are waiting on line to get into America (both legally and illegally) than are trying to get into all the other countries on planet earth combined. In fact, people are trying to FLEE the communist countries and in many cases they are not permitted to. Do you need to know anything else to see how much better a capitalist republic is for people than a communist dictatorship is?
Theory is one thing. Practice is another. Every communist and socialist dictatorship starts out with the promise of utopia and ends in oppression and despair for its citizens. And they all say "yeah but it will be different this time." But it never is and never will be because human nature remains constant.Usa is a cruel, horrible country and at the same time a very powerful and boss of the world, of course all people will prefer usa to other countries. But I don't think russia is still Communist, it used to be. 🤔
What? Did you hear what you just said?
USA is a cruel, horrible country. Of course everybody wants to live there!
You should think about that a while. It makes no sense at all.
USA is the most horrible country in the world... except for all the others.
There IS no perfect country. That's the whole point. Evil politicians sell communism and socialism by promising paradise. But there is no such thing. The USA is as close to it as humans have ever experienced. And THAT'S why so many millions of people, of every race, gender and nationality, are begging to live here. There has never been a nation that gives EVERYONE more opportunity for prosperity and freedom than the USA. And the reason is because it is the model of ANTI-communism and socialism. It is the epicenter of capitalist freedom. Also don't believe the lies by those who hate America and want to see it destroyed for their own evil reasons. America and Americans are far from being cruel. They are the most charitable and most generous country and people in the world, year after year after year...
America is the most compassionate and generous country in the history of the human race. And capitalism NOT communism or socialism MAKES THAT POSSIBLE. The communist countries are the LEAST charitable in the world. China ranks DEAD LAST in generosity.
www.marketwatch.com/.../the-us-is-the-most-generous-country-but-americans-say-debt-is-keeping-them-from-giving-more-to-charity-2019-10-18Okay maybe you're right, USA can be very compassionate, but do USA police also fall under this concept of mercy? 😃 There is such a thing as a presumption of innocence. Even if a person is guilty, he has the right to live, and criminals are punished by independent courts, not by the police. You are defending the USA because you are USA citizenship, that's obvious. But not everyone is dying to live in the USA, I guess you are not right. For example, I would rather live in misery in my country than in that wonderland USA. 😌
I'm breaking this into multiple posts because it is too long for one...
PART#1
I am defending the USA not because I am a US citizen, but because I believe that the USA is the greatest force for GOOD that the world has ever known. It has protected and defended the freedom, security and prosperity of people ALL OVER THE WORLD more than any other nation in history. The entire world benefits from what America has done and still does to this day.
As to the police in America, again, I think your views are mistaken due to a continuous stream of false propaganda in the media created by those who hate our country and want you to hate it too.
The incidence of wrongful police killings in America, for example is EXTREMELY small. Out of a population of 350 million people, maybe a dozen or so are killed by police every year by mistake or by intentional misconduct on the part of the police. That is 0.00000003 of people killed because of police mistake or misconduct.
There have to be police. There are evil people on the streets of every country who are intent on harming other people. If there weren't police then who would protect the innocent? No just society would be without police.PART#2
So if you are going to have hundreds of thousands of police OF COURSE you will have some bad ones. The world isn't filled with angels. No matter how carefully you screen police a few bad ones will always slip through the cracks. 99.999999% of police here are good people. They are just like everyone else. They have families, they want to do their job well, and they don't intentionally try to hurt innocent people. But how can you have a police force big enough to protect 350,000 people without having a few bad police? It isn't possible. The alternative is to have no police at all and that would mean TENS OF THOUSANDS of innocent people would die. How is that better?
I think the concept you need to understand is that there are no PERFECT ways to do things in a world filled with humans because humans are not perfect. There are only some ways that are better than other ways. Capitalism is not PERFECT, but I believe it is MUCH better than communism or socialism. Police are not PERFECT, but I believe that having an imperfect force is MUCH better than having no police force at all.
You have to make choices in life for a country to function. There are no PERFECT choices. It's a matter of which choices are the most good (or the least bad if you want to look at it that way).
There is an expression that applies to this:
"Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good."
You have to make choices in life. Rarely do you have the luxury to make a "perfect" choice. Some choices are difficult to make because you know there are imperfections no matter which choice you make. But you have to make them anyway. So the objective is to make the best choice you can and still recognize that it isn't perfect.Okay i give up, you are very right. Yes, USA is the best, strongest, most compassionate, highest quality, peaceful country. USA is a holy country because it rules the world.
The your last comment brought that to mind; USA citizens were saying that both biden and trump were not a good option. But they made a choice and chose the best of the bad. So I understand from your comment again; both options are bad, but you should still choose the best of the bad? I got it right, right? And I want to ask something. Why do you always capitalize a few words in your comments?
Capitalization is a way to add emphasis to a word... like bold font, or underline.
I can't use bold or underline in these comments, so I capitalize some words I want to emphasize instead.
It might not be clear if you are not a native English speaker.I interpret your last two comments as sarcasm. So I will end our discussion here.
Thanks for the chat.
- Imagine you go to school to be an engineer, and you figure you're going to have a comfortable office job the rest of your life, mostly using your brain and education to make a living. Not bad, right?
Then one day, you show up for work, but you are told that you have been reassigned. You are now a coal miner, or a refinery worker, or you'll have the privilege of working a collective farm, using wooden hand tools instead of tractors. "But I'm a trained engineer!" you protest.
"Not anymore. The state has too many engineers. This is where you are needed now."
And suddenly you have 40 years of dangerous, backbreaking work to look forward to (if you don't die prematurely), and a life of poverty. And if you complain and are turned in (which is nearly certain), a political officer will have you arrested and either sent to a work camp to be worked to death (or assigned stupidly dangerous work, like fueling rockets with chemicals that will dissolve your body in 20 seconds if they leak) or you'll just be executed.
Oh, don't get too sick, or badly injured, because the state long ago did the math and figured out that medical care is expensive, while bullets are cheap, so people needing lots of medical care are an undo burden on the state - a problem a 10 cent bullet can quickly solve.
Welcome to Communism, comrade.1|30|0"Okay then you high-class people should live happily by crushing lower-class people more and making them believe they are nothing. No matter what, people like doctors and engineers already have the best way of life. And a miner and a worker should never come to their level. Because they are uneducated and poor, right? Okay you are all very right."
Actually, you've hit on ANOTHER positive of capitalism. Under communism, if you are a labor worker, that's all you'll ever be. But under capitalism, you could start as a laborer, but you could move up in a company, or start your own business, or invent something on the side, or invest your money wisely, or any of several other things and you can earn your way into the middle class or even upper class. That's exactly why so many people from other areas of the world want to come to the US (or to a lesser degree the UK): to have the CHANCE to improve their situation. Under communism/Marxism, everyone (except the ruling elite) are equal: you are all equally impoverished and equally miserable. There is truth that communism brings equality (except for the elite), but it's not the equality that you envision. Instead of bringing everyone UP, it brings everyone DOWN, because it destroys any incentive for anyone to do anything more than the bare minimum, because no matter how hard you work, no matter what good ideas you have, etc., you will be treated no better than the laziest, dumbest person at your job.
That's why communist countries are surrounded by fences with machine guns and mines to keep their subjects IN. If it was a great place to be, why would they have to work so hard to prevent people from leaving?I guess you're very close to changing my mind. But I like Communism because I think the Left ideology is linked to Communism. Because I am a Leftist. And also I am very curious about something. If Communism is as you tell horrible, why don't people abandon the ideology of Communism? 🤔
The IDEA of communism - a grand utopia where everyone is "equal" (it's always imagined that "equality" is somehow EVERYONE living like the upper class) and there's no struggle because your needs are all taken care of is an attractive idea on the surface. It's a simple idea, and it's easy to "sell" because it triggers emotional feelings of goodness and fairness that many have been taught are the most important thing.
But is a con. A trick. A fraud. And it's a deadly one. It doesn't take into account that humans are flawed creatures, and that there will always be people with evil, criminal intent who will fight their way to the top, and then crush every other threat with incredible violence and zero mercy.
Communism forces you to trust a small group of people - the ruling elite - to make virtually EVERY decision for you, and to always make good and moral and ethical decisions. You don't get to have an opinion, or the option of not following orders, because the ruler will control 100% of the power: the guns and the men who wield them. But as Sir John Acton stated , "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men..."
Every communist "utopia" lasted a few days before a totalitarian dictator took over and ran the country into the ground. When there's a power vacuum, which every utopia would have, there's always going to be someone who comes along and decides that he wants total power and there's no one who can stop him if he moves quickly and boldly and violently and mercilessly enough - just like any criminal organization. No one VOTES on the leader of a gang or crime family - it's the person who wields the power the most ruthlessly who is in charge.
Everyone else is a peon, individually insignificant and easily replicable, so if you act out, it's off to the gulag or the nearest wall to be executed.- Show All Show Less
Why are weapons, violence and brute force associated with Communism in every view? Why do you think so. You may think it used to be like this, but now we are in the 21st century and they are definitely not suitable for our times.
Governments ARE "power" - whether that power was taken by force or whether it was given by voters or by some other means, when you are in the government, you have power over other people. This is true of every example of every government that has ever existed. And when you are governing a nation, you need a lot of power, or people will ignore the law - ignore the power of the government. And so governments use the power of guns and prison and fines and other means to control the people. Ideally, we're only controlling a relatively small number of criminals, but when laws make EVERYONE a criminal, then a government has total power. And that's what communist governments do: they start with the assumption that everyone is guilty, and so therefore the government has the right - the duty even - to dictate whatever rules and punishments the government thinks are useful to it at the time.
Anyway, communism has been tried in at least 20 different countries around the world since the 1920s (I'm not counting the countries in Eastern Europe who were dominated by Russia during the cold war - communism was forced on them). 100% of these countries turned into a totalitarian police state with a ruined economy and saw the government kill huge percentages of the population because they had different political ideas, were perceived as a threat, or simply because the leaders made completely inept decisions that resulted in millions starving or dying of diseases.
www.washingtonpost.com/.../
In case the chart isn't clear, it's showing the MILLIONS of people killed by country/regime - and it EXCLUDES war deaths. These are either people starved to death, executed for being "a political threat", or genocides of ethnic minorities - and it doesn't count the millions more used as slave labor. In China, TODAY, there are huge concentration camps. One of the well-known ones are for Uighur Muslims, who are rounded up and sent to "re-education camps." There, they are either "rehabilitated", at which point they are put to work as slave labor, or if they resist, they are killed outright. Children are taken from their parents and are taught that "China is your mom and dad now", and the women are forcibly sterilized and gang-raped by Chinese military for recreation. This is happening right here in 2021.

- I have no problem with “communism”. If a group of people want to all live together and share the work and profits of work equally... that’s great, they should have the right to do that.
But what I have a problem with is a person, group of people or government using authoritarian policies and the barrel of a gun to FORCE everyone to surrender their rights, their freedoms and their private property, In the name of “communism”! Because the end result of that has been truancy 100% of the time.
I’m not being hyperbolic, I mean that seriously. 100% of the time that a person, group of people or government has tried to FORCE an entire society into communism... actual communism was NEVER the actual end result! The end result was tyranny! The end result was more inequity than before. The end result was millions of people being murdered every god damn time!!!
people do not want to live in a Marxist society and history has proven that the only way to make an entire country do it, is to pick up a gun and FORCE them and it failed EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I believe in peoples freedom, I believe that each individual should have the right to chose how he wants to live his life. A side effect of that will defiantly be that some people have good lives and some people have bad lives. That’s why people and society should be caring and compassionate and help those who need it.
But the freedom to succeed or fail on your own is a much better life than being forced to starve to death in the name of “the greater good”.0|01|0 - It's a stupid idea that isn't feasible. Some feel good philosophy not rooted in reality. A crackhead deserves the same income as a doctor or an engineer? What would be the incentive to become a doctor, or an engineer? Let me get this straight, I could work part time at burger king, get drunk every day, not study, not go to school, and make as much as someone who sacrificed and dedicated their lives to the betterment of themselves and society at large? An inventor or an industrialist who makes immeasurable change to society generating mass amounts of wealth and efficiency, deserves the same income as a lazy piece of shit who can't even sweep a room without supervision? You can't have equal pay, cause not everyone has equal intelligence or puts in equal work. Everyone has an equal opportunity and a fair chance, this isn't a guarantee of an equal outcome. Every communist state or movement that has existed or been attempted, has been a nightmare. From the Khmer rouge, China (an economic success but authoritarian), Soviet Union, Sandinistas, Cuba etc. No thanks, life in capitalist nations is much better, and it's why they come here and we don't want to live there.0|21|0
- Your screen name is telling. And the fact this question got selected as “great” from GAG is horrifying.
Please give me an example of any time in history where communism did not result in human rights oppression, misery, economic stagnation and having citizens trying to FLEE the country?
Have you ever heard of people fleeing America to head to Cuba, People’s republic of China, North Korea, the late Soviet Union or most recently the so called starving paradise of Venezuela?
Have you ever read a page out of a FACTUAL history book of what history has done to societies who have tried? I’m serious. Do you realize what you are asking for?0|11|0Your screen name is telling. And the fact this question got selected as “great” from GAG is horrifying.
What do you mean, disgusting guy?
And gag liked my question. Because my question is unique, creative original and interesting than your questions. Also, what does my username have to do with this question? I did not understand it. You really don't know where to hit from. Besides, those Communist countries are in that situation thanks to which country? You may know that well. And also if Communism is bad why isn't it banned and why is a group of people still supporting Communism?Has there ever been a successful communist country? Please give me an example. After all Russia, Communist China, North Korea, Cuba and Venezuela all have a such a marvelous history of human rights abuses and high standards of living.
Take emotion out of this because what you are asking for is very serious.Because those countries are poor and not loved by other countries, they are seen as ghosts.
- Show All Show Less
Do you know the history of Venezuela?
I’m willing to take your viewpoint seriously (even if I disagree with it). But you need to debate with solid hard facts not emotions.
And you know what I’m actually sorry for opening with an insult to your screen name (it is a strange choice though). I shouldn’t open debates with personal insults nor should you. Let’s focus on the topic on hand.
Communism has NEVER worked for the better in history. It works on paper but not in real life. Venezuela was once the most prosperous country in all of South America before communism took over. I can get into the hard, horrifying facts off communism did to people down there if you have the patience to listen to it.
Again I’m debating the topic you are proposing. That doesn’t mean I hate your personally. Let’s establish that difference.
- Because communism doesn't work, and has never been shown to work. On the other hand capitalism works very well and has been proven to work.
Communism is an idealism that has nothing to do with reality. It might sound good on paper, but it doesn't work.
I seriously find it hard to believe that some people don't see how successful capitalism has been. It amazes me that people get out their expensive iPhone and complain about how terrible things are. The irony is off the charts. You can't possibly own such a luxury item and at the same time complain about how bad you have it.0|00|0 - I personally don't know any examples of communism being applied successfully, I've been lead to believe that countries thst have tried or still implement communism are miserable (Russia, China, North Korea)
China: businesses and economy boomed after moa died.
Lenin and Stalin made a mess of russia
N. Korea: well if the news is anything to go buy they still live like its the cold war, showing military might with big parades of their weapons and testing missiles.
I know this is narrow and not the complete picture but I think this is getting near the tldr stage.1|21|0 - It doesn't have a good track record historically. I'm sure even many Marxists will agree with me here. That is my first and most fundamental objection. I have no interest in gambling people's lives over a rocket engine design that has just catastrophically exploded over and over throughout history. I don't care about the "[...] but that wasn't quite right, or we just need to change this [...]" at some point after failure after failure. If we go with what works, a strong sense of private property and economic freedom consistently works throughout the world. It creates income inequalities but people aren't starving to death in the freest nations in the world.2|10|0
I cannot see anything ethical about a communist at this point. They would see the world burn, and you burn and cry for help while ignoring it, to pursue their reformations of society. They are horrid people in my experience who want to work 20 hours a week while being the leader in a workplace with you paying for it -- and possibly with your own life.
- On paper, Communism, Socialism, even Fascism, all sound great and answer all those questions perfectly... one class, everyone is treated the same, everyone gets the same pay, everyone has the same everything.
In reality, it is not that way in life. Communism, Socialism, and Fascism have killed millions and millions of people who disagree with them. All three of these types of government take the basic rights of the people away, and make their own laws and regulations that are best for all the people from someone else's point of view.
I hope I never have to live under any of these kinds of government. The idea of freedom of my own person is too great to give it up.0|11|0 - Because it strips you of your freedoms and ends with government tyranny every time. Governments also don’t have the ability to effectively replicate healthy economic climate. It disincentives innovation and growth. It’s not everyone’s right to have everything handed to them. It’s everyone’s right to make life what they want it to be. Our individuality is what makes us unique. I don’t want to be the same as everyone else. I grew up struggling with money my entire life, and today I’m wealthy. I put in a lot of work to get here, and I did it all on my own. I wouldn’t have been able to get to where I’m at today in a communist country.0|11|0
- first off: no you do not have the right to be equal to others. because that implies that other people don't have the right to better their lives through hard work. if everyone was equal nobody would be allowed to be better. and we would all be held captive by the laziest members of society, infact that's one of the reasons communism is inherently anti freedom
second: communism sounds nice on paper but is incompatible with certain elements of human nature. which ones? humans are inherently selfish and seek power for themselves if they can get it. so how to keep everyone equal if everyone is trying to get more for themselves? well you would need an over class to force equality... BUT WAIT, what is that overclass going to do for themselves? refer back to my elements of human nature at the beginning of this paragraph
thus as you can see communism is inherently authoritarian and doesn't even work0|00|0 - Under communism you have no property and the government can just decide that you don't deserve a house on a whim, fuck commies. Capitalism is shit, but at least it didn't result in millions of death every god damn time it was tried. Not everyone deserves equal salary. Let's be real, who would you pay more, a basic electrician, or Nikola Tesla, without whom the former wouldn't have a job in the first place. The state is also insanely inept at everything they do, entrusting your entire life to them is moronic.0|11|0
In general I agree, but just to be clear Nikola Tesla didn't invent electricity and I wouldn't pay him to fix my wiring.
- I don't know much but it does kinda kill individuality and ruin the point of hardwork.
Regardless of who they are, every human desrves the basic rights, food, water, shelter, clothes.
But beyond that, is about what a person makes of their life.
For example, one of my uncle's flunked his medical exam cause he wasn't serious was wasting his time a lot. He got determined and worked his ass off and is now of the leading ENT surgeons in the state and is wealthy, and he deserves every penny he has cause he earned it with his own sweat, tears and blood. That wouldn't have happened in communism cause it would have supressed him to be at the level of others, irrespective of how much work be put in.
I gotta be honest, I'm not very knowledgeable in how communism and capitalism works so my opinion is purely based off my experience.0|01|0 - I see there's already a lot of opinions here, so I'll just summarize my biggest two issues; although, it's obviously a very complex issue:
1) Any form of state compulsion is immoral by my standards. I do not believe that it is ever ok for someone who is not hurting anybody to be forced against their will to live by others' standards.
2) History, including current events, proves that people with massive power cannot be trusted. I think that goes both for big corporations and big governments. The key difference, though, is that we have at least some ability to choose to boycott and leave businesses, but we cannot choose to boycott the government on threat of violence.0|10|0 - were taught to. why?
I think because it denies human nature and it is corrupt to where people at the top, who hold power, do well and others get little. Power is held by brute force. The poeple have little voice. By encouraging human nature to strive for more and compete, more people can live better, to a higher level.
There are some advantages... those holding power can think long term.0|00|0 - Go to a very educated Democrat and ask them. They will tell you just as much as any conservative that communism is bad.
Since it's most likely that you agree with Democrats and the liberal left, if you can find some very smart ones they can explain to you in a way that you canunderstand. dont ask conservatives because they can't appeal to your left leaning nature and will only make you mad.1|10|0Exactly. She just can’t remove emotion from any of her arguments. Funny how lefty neo communists feel zero emotion about the REAL human rights violations countries like Cuba, China and North Korea are guilty of.
- There's two major drawbacks, communism has never worked before, because there's always been someone in power that decides who gets what.
Secondly, if everyone gets paid the same, why would anyone put in effort? If people are paid depending on effort, who decides what is what amount of effort? People that can be corrupted, back to point one.
I am good at my job, went to uni and put in hours and hours of effort to become a master at my craft. Why would I do that if I ended up earning the same as someone handing out newspapers?0|10|0 - No, you have the right to have equal access to opportunity. That's it. It is on you to make use of those opportunities to provide for yourself and your family.
Beyond that, there is a debate. Because of course, some folks may not be able to do so. What do they deserve? Should they be put somewhere? Left homeless? I think the old Conservative way of using government/religious partnerships here is the best.0|01|0 - There is no such thing as "class". Some people just have more than others as a result of free exchange of goods and services.
People are not equal in terms of their abilities and usefulness for society. Someone drinks all day and someone creates technological products, that are used by millions of people. Clearly, one is more deserving of having fame and wealth than the other.0|00|0 - Because we aren't sheep. We have evolved because humanity always thought outside the box and strived to learn a better/easier way. Communism isn't the better or easier way because it might work for a few years after that it just stops working and the corruption begins to take over.0|21|0
- "Isn't it the right of every human being to live equally?"
The nature of life is not that way, so unfortunately it is not possible. If you put 10 people each on their own equal island alone. Some would live like kings and some would die. And that is how the world works. There isn't anything you can do about it. You can say things OUGHT to not be that way, but just reread the sentence I wrote before this one again.0|31|0"making them believe..." umm i didn't know rich people could control what you think. Sounds like someone who needs serious mental help. Mind control has yet to be invented.
- On paper, sure it might have some persuasive aspects, ... but in practice has had a devastating history and a sordid track record of authoritarianism and oppression.1|41|0
- If I work hard and can afford a nice house and car and nice things in my house ( furniture, TV and stereo) why should someone who doesn’t work at all have the same things as me, but the reality is under communism I wouldn’t have any of that. If I work hard at a good job my wealth would be taken from me and given to those who don’t work, or work and make less, so that no one can afford a nice house and car and furnishings.0|21|0
- At a very basic level, communism is incongruent with what makes a remotely efficient economy. It requires a strong central planning to function somewhat (and then still far worse), which opens the floodgates to authoritarian governance, corrupt leadership and such.0|01|1
- Communism strips people of all freedoms and freedom of choice and puts literally everything and power in the hands of the government and to me that is good at all because humans tend to abuse power.1|50|1
- Why don't you go live in one of those great Communist countries for a couple years and then tell us how great it is. Until you do that, you're brainwashed.0|21|0
- Exemple:
If everyone makes the same amount of money regardless of what they do, why would a doctor study years after years to at the end receive the same salary as a man that sits in garden benches all day or a baker? Comunism actually killed more people than the naz! s, and still kills people till this day, just see how bad cuba is0|11|0 - 100 million lives lost for communism alone. Loose of freedom in every communist country... and poorness, if that is not enough to seriosuly think about human rights violations I do not know what is it. I know many running out of communist coubtries to capitalistic ones... not yet viseversa0|11|0
- No matter where it was tried, communism has always resulted in mountains of dead bodies. As for economics, it has always resulted in shortages, inefficiency and poverty. Everybody gets an equal amount of fuck all.0|11|0
- No country with an understanding of communism acts according to this understanding. then the whole world cannot live in accordance with communism. I don't know exactly what happened, but communism is not a good thing. I will find out exactly what happened0|11|0
- Communism doesn't work because the people do NOT all live the same and the leaders do NOT want to do so.
In the United States, we have the rights of "life, liberty, and the PURSUIT of happiness". It does NOT say that the govt will give everyone one handful of food (so that things are even) and that you will be happy.
Success- and the happiness/comfort derived from it- is the reward of being successful as you PURSUE your happiness.0|10|0 - If you'd ever lived in a communist country, you'd realize that everyone except the political elite live in poverty. I suppose it never occurs to commies that those who want to apply themselves deserve the right to live ABOVE the poverty line.0|01|0
- It doesn't.
It just hated some brands of it.
Chinese Communism has made the modern era possible. It's why the Chinese have been so successful in so little time.1|00|1china will fall apart in 10 years, it was never succesful, it was built on fake growth like enron
- The UdSSR failed. Since then, most of the western world agreed that Communism = Soviet Union. You can find sufficient excuses with the soviets why Communism doesn't work and these excuses became part of western political propaganda. What they're missing to mention. Only because Communism hasn't worked most of the time, it doesn't mean that Capitalism works any better.1|00|1
yes capitalism does work better, it inherently clicks with human nature and rewards people for constructively using greed (greed isn't optional, all humans are greedy)
communism always fails. where are the failed capitalist societies? there aren't any. it works. and even if you could point to individuals suffering that's not capitalism failing. the majority of people are not suffering, imperfection isn't a failure of a system.Greed is not part of human nature. It's part of western culture and you assume that this is natural because it's all you know.
Capitalism failed if you measure its success by the happiness of their people. People in Yugoslavia and in East Germany were more happy than people living today in Europe. Many want the old system back. East Germany wasn't a free country. But this was due to the cold war that they placed a huge border where it was and due to soviet influence. Things were much easier in Yugoslavia. If you measure Capitalism by the happiness of its people, it fails on this score. It fails because materialism isn't making people happy. Greed and egoistic behavior isn't making people happy.nope, all civilizations are greedy. all of them expand, all of them consume, and all humans in all societies want more.
this is a common scapegoat that communists use; they blame the west instead of human nature... because they don't know any other non western history- Show All Show Less
and... using the happiness measure of totalitarian states? lmao how stupid can you be? the people WERNE'T ALLOWED TO SAY THEY WERE UNHAPPY YOU IDIOT
Maybe you should check the facts before making unfounded claims. Have a look into Bhutan and why such a poor country scores best on the happiness index. It's the best example of human greed not being part of human nature. Buddhist culture in general is disproving your claims.
anecdotes taken as snapshots in time cannot disprove broad claims. a poor country being happy has nothing to do with disproving greed.
also i refute social science in general and question if they have any valid way to measure happiness. they don't.
all civilizations seek to expand outward, to consume more. if greed is just western... how do you explain the mongols? the turks? aztecs and mayans invading their neighbors? Africans enslaving eachother long before the west discovered them? infact every civilization has had slavery. You're arguing based on empty claims such as that there wasn't a valid way to measure happiness. I have no further interest in a discussion with someone who refutes the facts that don't fit into their world view.
- I don't it sounds like a good thing it still is working for the country's that doing it, if mostly American fashists would stop trying to own everything with brainwashed subjects to experiment on and implant knowledge or tech maybe even drugs to make it's people war hungry and fight eatch outher and everyone else then we would be ok now.0|01|0
- What communism tries to achieve is good in theory.
What it does in reality is not convincing - and is corrupted or has failed.
Most of the world rather is 'reserved', but does not hate c'ism... except for the U. S. who don't know it better.0|01|0 - You know they have different types of communism are you referring to the state administrator model then that one sucks even in the US the state sucks and I'm sure it sucks everywhere else keep on looking0|01|0
- Because it’s a totalitarian system that is anti God and anti private property and has killed more people than small pox.0|11|0
- Communists should be tortured before they are disemboweled and left to slowly die in the hot sun0|01|1
- Because communism leads to stagnation and totalitarian politics.0|41|0
- Name a single truly communist country in the world 2021, that both Marx and Lenin would approve of?1|00|0
- On paper communism is perfect but in practice it’s almost impossible because people are greedy.0|00|0
- thats is NOT what communism is about... in Communist countries there are The Ruling class, and everyone else...0|00|0
- China
Russia
Cuba
I believe these countries and there past with it are the reasons why.0|11|0 - Because it gives the power to the State to say who’s equal. What’s been working so far is Democratic Socialism, which the US has, but Europe has more.
It balances free market and govt regulation.0|01|0 - The whole world doesn't hate communism You are listening to right-wing propaganda.1|02|2
- Do you really think every person who lives in a communist country gets to live equally? Guess what, they don't.0|11|0
- Study the History of Communism and why it failed
Ask yourself why very few Communist nations exist today?0|21|0 - The short answer is no. A state guaranteeing equality for everyone would stagnate, because nobody would have an incentive to improve their status. Productivity would be nil and everyone would starve.0|11|0
Perhaps I should changed my username to CommunismFailed? Or maybe NoSocio-EconomicSystemIs Perfect?
- A mix of greed and how attempts at communism have worked in the past.0|01|0
- Read The Black Book of Communism; and you will know why nobody who knows what communism is wants it.0|31|0
Capitalism is about allowing people upward nobility. In a true capitalist society being born into poverty won't prevent you from becoming rich.
- The concept of communism sounds great, but the reality of it is always terrible.1|10|0
- No, they obviously don’t have that right.
All good?0|11|0For starters, if you want to work harder and earn more, why shouldn't be able to?
If you hone skills that others can't perform, why wouldn't the applications of those skills be more valuable?
- Imagine living a free society where you can do whatever you want in life and still advocating for communism lol.0|21|0
- No, it's the exact opposite, it's an authoritarian takeover of a tyrannical government stealing from the workers0|01|0
