The thing is a grew up with a different version of Santa Clause,

mine is based on being English and having both Celtic and Norse history pretty much where I live.

Depends with ancient world was different back then to now, we don't really know what colour people were, Slavery was pretty high so he could have been any colour, we assume just because person was born in the region that was his colouring, that may not be the case at all. For all you know jesus may well have had Chinese features or African features with European skin tone. Unless we found his grave to determine his dna, then any argument about race etc should be binned. They made jesus white as Christianity was more of a thing for Europeans than it was Asians and Africans..

Santa Claus is a fictional character. He was not from Turkey. He was from someone's imagination. Perhaps there is a Turkish historical figure whom Turks claim was the inspiration for Santa Claus, but other countries can make similar claims.

The depictions I have seen of Jesus have always shown him as a dark complected male. How is it that you have a painting of Jesus and not just someone's rendering of how he may have appeared? That's absolutely amazing!

It’s defiantly true that societies will change things over time to make them more like themselves. It’s not “white supremacy” or some evil plot to “white wash” the world.
It’s just a normal side effect of adopting things from other cultures and then slowly adapting it over time to be part of your own.
Companies also change things like this in order to make more money. If they are targeting a certain group of people... they will target them by making products relatable to them.

Virtually all medieval religious paintings showed biblical characters as white because that's what the artists knew what to draw. Remember at that time any dark skinned people arriving at your village were probably looking to drag you off as slaves so it's easy to imagine why people would prefer to whiten religious characters to make them more friendly.

That jesus picture is from a forensic artist and therefore isn't a real picture. His skin is a bit dark because they had no protection from sun. Other than that it's actually pretty close to real jesus. Kind of like him on his best day with healthy skin. I'm sure the best day you've ever looked is far different than what you look like now.

Yes, they do change according to their beliefs. They don't want their children, childhood characters, to be from a country they don't like.
