that didn't work well at the capital in January or during WWII :(
@grahamcracka Not really relevant comparisons.. 1) First of all, there were a lot more people at the Trump rally who were not willing to be actively violent. Remove them altogether and you've a much smaller crowd2) There weren't nearly enough police to handle even a reduced crowd, nor were they properly prepared for a violent crowd.3) Germany is not a good example. The Weimer Republic was falling apart and the country hadn't fully recovered even from WWI. Comparing that to USA of the past 40 years, even with civil rights unrest as the biggest internal problem, is apples and oranges. My example speaks to how to handle "hate speakers", like the neo-Nazi's or any Supremacist group. They march in big cities where they know they'll be confronted because their doctrine strikes fear in the hearts of people. But so what? If they assemble 1,000 followers to march, and not a single person shows up to watch, who are they going to yell at? The police lining the street? If no passerby pays them ANY attention, they've accomplished nothing. That's my point.

Was it wrong to cancel OJ Simpson?
I’m not old enough to remember how that played out I just know he was accused of killing someone he was acquitted and now he’s a joke that got played out like 20 years ago
was it wrong to cancel any of the school shooters in recent years?
I feel like you have a very odd definition of cancel if you mean arrest them? Then no wtf does cancel culture have to do with school shooters anyways?
I know a pastor and he said teen girls from his church wanted to send love letters to the Parkland school shooter a couple years ago. You know, that MAGA kid. Should they have been told not to worship him? In other words, would cancelling him have been better than worshiping him?
It's a thing. You don't see Kathy Griffin anymore and Al Franken was also cancelled. Both for jokes/pranks.
I'm not saying that boycotts don't happen. I'm not saying that sometimes they ruin ("cancel") someone's career. I'm saying that CANCEL "CULTURE" is not a thing.
*that sometimes they don't ruin...
See here’s the thing something like that can be taken to extreme measures they can say exercise programs are hateful against fat people which can harm their psyche so cancel that nudity causes perverted thoughts leading to rape so cancel that religion causes radicals so cancel church etc I mean all of those examples where ludicrous but you get what I mean
@Jesus_is_the_guey That's true. I understand what you mean
