A recent whistle blower at Facebook revealed how FB deliberately pushed propaganda in effort to effect the outcome of the U. S. presidential elections. Google was also caught working to aggressively push a political agenda my manipulating search results and pushing information that was known to be inaccurate or misrepresented.

Anti-Trust laws have been used to breakup companies that have accrued too much power over consumers and public utilities are regulated to ensure fairness of service and "equality".
YES, social media and search engines need to be regulated to ensure they do not exercise undue influence over society.
