Has the response to Covid turned you into a shittier human being?

Yeah, I am actually paying attention to that so that it doesn't affect my personality too much. But while I always used to be very positive even towards people I disagree with, I have seen too much abusive behavior towards the unvaccinated to tolerate any of their bullshit anymore.

So unlike my old self who would always debate, on Twitter most of these people who are actively condemning free choice and slandering people who have different opinions go straight on block.

And in general my disdain for collectivism has grown to its peak, but that's also because i now finally know a good umbrella to fit everything I hate under and collectivism is the correct term for that. The stupid notion individuals should conform to the norms of a collective, and sacrifice themselves in favor of a greater good. I despise it. It's the most satanic, evil thing I have seen in my lifetime.

Life should be all about personal development and personal responsibility, you should have the choice to be how you wish to become and then strive to put that to the best use. Individualism isn't about being selfish, it's about your own personal responsibility to do the right thing as you think you'd be the best person. It's about respecting that each individual has their views, their choice and their way of life.

So naturally, if people are going to debate about the vaccine, i still debate. I love to have a good conversation and on this site my tolerance for it is very high since people are rarely tribalistic. But when i see things like vaccine shots in the bio, slurs towards the unvaccinated or the idea we should be forcefully injected i loose all respect for that person, block them. And will refuse to accept an apology once it becomes fashionable to do so.

People doing that kind of behavior should come to senses around now, and if not don't come at me later with a fake apology. Only come at me with true understanding of how you went wrong.

Does that make me a shittier person that that's my attitude now? Absolutely. Is that who I wish to be? Probably not. But these people are part of a movement that is the most oppressive I have ever seen and is actively oppressing the minority group I belong to with anything they can do, and they cheer for it. So those people are dead to me.

I think my eyes have been opened to how few Americans actually believe in democracy, freedom and the American way. They’re willing to throw literally everything away because… I honestly don’t know. I think it’s fear based. I used to think people were just misinformed and we needed to use facts and logic to reason with them, now I realize it’s so much more malicious than being misinformed. The percentages of that poll of Dems that would support taking children away from their parents locking people into camps and excluding unvaccinated from society was truly terrifying.

Maybe… It changed my beat year into the worst one. I was separated from my boyfriend who is in China and I had to go back in my country. Haven’t seen him for 2 years, as if I wasn’t already stressed enough I lost the sweetest grandpa to Covid and an uncle a month later. So, it slapped in my face, it showed me even at my best, something can happen to ruin everything.
The thing is you should not stop fighting with life, when it slaps, you should slap it back. I am trying to start doing that again.
