My favorite swim style is simply a front crawl with my head above water when I'm chilling out in still waters or enjoying a still lake. I swim fastest doing freestyle or front crawl is my go to in being the fastest swimming style taught to me and was the reccomend swim style that was advised for me to adapt as my main one when I started lifeguarding. It's also the easiest for me to cut through waves in open waters. P. S. the breaststroke is what's taught for beginner swimmers haha.
Personally I can't stand the front crawl. The shape of my nose just lets water in despite blowing air out my nostrils. I go for butterfly or breast for speed, a basic frog swim if I need to be really quiet (like sneaking up) and for complete underwater only, and just float on my back if I need rest. If I have to carry something I might resort to a side stroke.
Have an opinion?
freestyle and back strokewish i was better at butterfly but never could really master it
I used to live in a pool swimming until I gained weight. Even after I lost most of it I still don't have the body confidence to enter the water again. I have a fear if I ever did I would turn ottermode.
I prefer breast stroke. I was decently fast back when I did swim, but now... Not so much.Second favourite is crawl. Simply because it's so easy and it's fast. Get's the blood flowing.
The only thing I learned in swimming class was how not to drown as easily. So I paddle around however I feel like it, even if that means I look like Jar Jar Binks
I always found breast stroke the easiest :)I used to be able to do Butterfly Stroke but i've forgotten it now :(
Breaststroke... bc its something I love doing and it's fun!
breast stroke is my absolute favorite stroke, then butterfly.. backstroke is ok, and i simply stink at freestyle..
I have competed in state level competitions so I am fast in all strokes but I think most people would be fastest in freestyle. That's my fastest.
Apart from just floating around enjoying the water it would be the breast stroke for actual swimming can keep that up longer than other styles
I guess I can swim the breaststroke and backstroke, but my swimming skills are rudimentary. Doesn't matter though, 'cause I swim for fun.
Freestyle and breast. I was the breast on our team medley, because I was the only one that could get the glide right on the flip turn without disqualifying.
I do my own thing. I won a few swim races doing it to.
What style is it?
I went to swim lessons for a few years but never learned a lot of strokes. I dolphin til I have a good lead then kinda freestyle.
You don’t like the breaststroke? I like it because it’s simplistic and feels really natural to me. I’m certain in a few months I’ll master this stroke and be fairly fast in it too. I’m going to learn freestyle and CSS as well, maybe even learn the dolphin kick too.
I kinda like it but I didn't learn very many.
I’m teaching myself the breaststroke lol. YouTube videos.
You mean dolphin kick butterfly style😑. Are you even a competitive swimmer?
@ShiaoYin at camps we would competitively swim but not real swimming
Half the girls I beat were actual swimmers.
Freestyle is my go to but I also like breaststroke. I used to be a lifeguard so I now only know all the strokes but I have taught all the strokes
So is freestyle your fastest or most efficient?
Depends on how you use it. Dolphin kick is hard and completely under water but really fast.
The doggy paddle and the frog swim. They're the only ones I know.
I swim like a mermaid. Hha I don't know why but i literally do
That's half of the butterfly.
@Defboy69 lol ok
If you're doing what I think you're doing, it's called a dolphin kick. You should be able to get two, possibly three dolphin kicks in for every rotation of your arms.
@Defboy69 yes thats wxactly it! I have to kick myself off the wall and i can seim to the middle of the pool but then i can't swim further cause there's nothing to kick off of
Try rolling your shoulders forward. Think of it as an undulating motion starting at the shoulders. It's easier to do underwater.
I just swim I don't know, I was taught by a swim teacher.
Freestyle. Of just floating. :P
I probably doggy paddle tbh
Lol. 🤣🤣🤣 Me too.
Freestyle. it is always the fastest.
Breast stroke is fastest for me
I don't swim
