Have an opinion?
My question is why the heck anyone would trade a player who went to the Pro Bowl three times?
Presumably because they didn't want to meet his contract demands. But he's a great pass rusher, and great teammate, and stays on the field and out of trouble off it.
NopeHe was a great player for them
2 first round picks are nice and i suppose if you don't think you are going to win or compete heavily this year it may make sense to consider the future but for at least this season it is not a good move. but i don't think they are going to win this year or even take the division so I think there is some logic to the idea of getting lots of picks in exchange for a 27 year old player you were about to have to pay a ton of money to re-sign
Yeah, it was clearly about the salary cap (remember their quarterback has already signed an extension), and their window of opportunity not yet being open. They'd better hit on those picks, though, because not only is Mack a great pass rusher, but he's a great teammate and citizen.
yea and i imagine if they thought they were going to compete this year they wouldn't make the move but you should be able to find solid replacements.
