Is the pitcher-catcher relationship important to the success of the the pitcher? Can they work together well without being friendly off the field? Pitcher and catcher
Lol no. The catcher runs the show typically. The pitcher just needs to trust the catcher knows best. And the catcher needs to understand the pitchers abilities. Basically mutual respect is all that's required.
You should definitely have a good pitcher/catcher bond. The more you know the other person, the more you know their weaknesses. Often the greatest strength is to know the weaknesses of your ally. After knowing these weaknesses, compensate for them and build on their strengths.
Go Milwaukee, that is my team. All I know is when the Cardinals traded Steve Carlton , they had to also trade Tim McCarver a catcher. McCarver was Carlton's personal catcher.
