What do you like about f1 racing?

- Nothing, nowadays anyway. I've been a fan since I was a little kid but the sport is awful now, it's understandable that due to the tech being used it won't really attract new teams given that most car manufacturers are switching to electric. They are starting to faze out great old tracks replacing them with boring new ones. The grid seems like a family gathering more than a competitive sport. For the most part, the best you can hope for is a grid penalty for the top 6 drivers so that you can at least get some overtakes. The longer the season is the less enthused I am, individual races don't feel important and special, due to the new tracks copying a lot from the older ones. It's sad that a lot of the times most real drama that happens is in the qualifying. Is this still revelant?
- Pretty Much what @wankiam said for me to explain why i like I would need 5 hours. Is this still revelant?
I've liked it ever since I was 5. And its stuck with me more then other have. Although I do watch SuperBikes, WRC, BTTC and Le Mans.

well im the same with btcc and rallying but then again i do build rally cars at work and know mike and andy jordan too... spoken with plato a few times too. nearest i get to being a fan of bikes is following the tt racing but again i met michael dunlop through rallying rather than bikes. he has a crazy mk2 escort
you know after lewis won there two years back i hung around near the pits and got to give him a union flag to wave as he sat up on the fence celebrating with us all but if you ever go to btcc the drivers are very accesable to the degree i have stood smoking a cigarette with plato behind one of the service trucks betwwen races like he was a naughty school kid lol... the others i have been lucky enough to meet through my work which does give me a certain advantage
I think its because F1 is more heavily televised and drivers are under the spotlight that their agents dont allow fan interaction.
partly that but there are the obvious crowd issues too...300k at siverstone for a grand prix verses a few thousand at snetterton for example and when it comes to rallying the only access is in service areas where most bobble hats dont get to visit anyway because they are out in the forest spectating
one thing that strikes me though is that even with such huge numbers of fans all with their favourite drivers etc you never see the kind of tribalism you get in football. its like we are all fans of the sport rather than making it about some kind of turf war
With Football/Soccer tho Fans clubs have their local rivalries and fans take it to extreme. Where as F1 is pretty much a team sport then a group.
i remember being sat with vettel fans as lewis overtook him right in front of us... i was cheering ofcourse but they were all clapping too
True, I saw lewis and bottas battle live and the crowd was going nuts, one fan was going exteme but i gyess he was kinda plastered.
as pissed as he was i bet it never entered his head to punch someone or throw banana skins on track.

- Love everything about it, like others have said itself changed over the last few years rules, technology, drivers but on its plus side each race is different and you never know what might happen.
I wod love to he able to go and watch some of the races rather than watch it on tv.Is this still revelant? - I've been losing interest little by little since Lewis Hamilton started dominating. Is this still revelant?

319- I really don't know anymore. It's gone downhill the last 10 years. Chase Carey hasn't a clue what F1 needs.
Today more drivers get penalties due to exceeding the number of engine components used rather than because they crashed into another car.ReactLike

- Watched the films McClaren and Setta (sp?). Interesting stories about the tipping point of control and speed while it constantly changes with innovation and technology. It really sucked that they died in crashes though. The motorcycle documentaries usually have the same sad ending.React

- The tracks are far more interesting/challenging than boring oval tracks used in Nascar or Indy. It's not as boring to watch as endurance racing. Competition between the teams and manufacturers actually stimulates development in consumer vehicles.React

- I think it's pretty cool. I don't watch it much because there is usually a time difference between here and the area of the trackReact

- Not much aside from stupid speeds. They really need to deregulate and go back to big turbo 4s and na v12s. 15000 rpm 12s are why I originally watched f1. But its since stagnated to the same bullshit.React

- The technology used in the design of the cars. Those things generate so much down force at over 100 mph that they can literally be driven on a ceiling at that point.React
