a zombie tools reaver cleaver. a bit slow but will just crush those frail blades. and it it doesn't cut you, it'll break your bones. those swords you posted probably can't even hurt someone through a thick jacket. look flashy but don't seem practical.
Do you even understand the those swords? They cut well (double edge), can stab with the point and the hook, catch other weapons or limbs with the hook, the hand guard is also sharp and can block and cut with it. Do you know how to use them at all? I don't think so.
no, they can't stab well at all with that big round "point". you know "stabbing ability" is a function of "pressure" over "area". the more you increase the "area" of the point, the more you increase the power needed to actually stab anything. i would actually just wear my winter jacked and dare you to try and stab me with those. i bet i'd be fine. shure slicing could work if there weren't those weird tips that would stop a successfull slice...
if you want something for hooking the opponents weapon, i highly suggest those things: those are way more efficient and don't compromise slicing or stabbing for hookability.
yeah with that small point, you'll make an ouchie, not a fight deciding wound xD also i obviously saw that the inside of the hand guard isn't sharp. but you get in blocking situations, where you stab your belly, chest or your other arm with that thing so that's not terribly convenient. i mean it looks cool and i bet it's super cool in theory but it's not practical.
nobody says a sword has to be practical to be your favourite. i just prefer practical. you do you.
I agree it's not useful against armor, but the hook can definitely stab quite a bit. As for the self stab with the guards and back point, that's why you need skill.
Reminds me of a billhook polearm just condensed I'd say my favorite sword is the langes messer, it's like a longsword mixed with a Sabre, I don't know just looks awesome lol
Probably a standard Middle Ages European longsword with a standard crossguard and a non-pompous pommel. Or a bastard sword, similarly. Though the Chinese two-handed wu jian is also a close second.
