What do you think about the Washington Redskins changing their name to Washington Football Team?

- The name has been around for ages, it’s Rich In tradition. I never thought about it being offensive to Indians and I’ve never heard of any other Indians complaining about it. How many sports teams have that type of a name The Cleveland Indians The Florida State Seminoles The Atlanta Braves And they do the tomahawk chant with their arms and hands. Everyone is
just getting so paranoid nowadays you can’t have anything say anything or do anything. The owner of the Washington Redskins Daniel Snyder said he would never change The name Redskins. So now He’s basically just selling out for money because he’s getting peer pressure from his sponsors, they are telling him if he doesn’t change the name Redskins that they’re gonna pull out of business deals with himIs this still revelant? My highschool were the redskins and had to change the name back in 2002 so they decided the mustangs.

- They lied and sold out, period. And that is based on their own statements and actions since the two SCOTUS rulings in their favor over the past decade.
Sports have become weaponized for pushing the liberal agenda. They ought to be ashamed of themselves for proudly supporting and donating to domestic terrorist organizations. I truly hope it hits their pockets hard. They deserve it.Is this still revelant?

334- Lmao. Money, money, money. Don’t want to commit to anything on the quick til they can research and poll people, then check the social temperature of the potential choice. So they’ll just go through an already goofy season with a goofy name and come back fresh next year. It’s all about selling merchandise.React

- I did she a video some time ago where thy asked some what seemed like young influential and proud of their culture Native Americans and they liked the name and where proud of the teams association to the Native American people. I'm just not sure if this is just white people that find this offensive or if the majority of Native Americans find this offensive.React

- "Washington football team"? If that's not a placeholder, we may have the incident of a state actually being kicked out of the union.React

- Changing the team name is fine. Changing it to "Football Team"? Dumb. They should've just kept the name "Redskins" until they had a legitimate new name.React

Yes, but not until after the upcoming season. This football season they're actually competing named as the "Football Team".
@NYCQuestions1976 I am hoping it will be the Red Wolves not the Warriors or the Redtails.
Whatever they go with, it's not going to happen until after the upcoming season. Redwolves is not a bad choice. I think Redhawks is pretty good.

Oh yeah that's right. The Rough Riders are Calgary.
We should just rename the Earth at this point. Just call it Planet and be done.
- I'm glad that they dropped the racial slur but I think the current name's just a placeholder.React

What racial slur? Are you offended? Are you against free speech? Do you understand what's really going on right now? Wake up! Your rights are being infringed upon. And when they're gone, you'll never get them back.
@Zeus_66 Arguing that someone should change their name because said name is a racial slur isn't being against free speech.
It is a sellout. In 2013, Redskins ownership vehemently stated it would "NEVER" happen. "NEVER in CAPS." Direct quote. When it was pushed to SCOTUS, even the possibly offended groups didn't show offense. It is being changed for a political agenda, period.
And if I ever see you post that leverages skin color for clarification purposes, I'll be sure to call out your bogus hypocrisy.- Show All Show Less
Yeah. You have nothing. Typical. Whenever you disagree with something it is RACIST. Gets old fast. Stay consumed, my little sheeple puppet. You got a long road ahead of you in life.
@Zeus_66 Oh so calling the use of a RACIAL slur "racist" is just using racist allegations for political purposes LMAO!!! I'm sorry you're at an intellectual dead end.
Yeah, I knew that dud of a response was coming. "Redskins" is not racist. I guess the radical Brown Berets (that represent BROWN people) is racist all on it's on, by it's on people, against it's own people.
@Zeus_66 "Brown" is a description of a skin color, "Redskins" is a racial slur and this whole "the left calls everything they don't agree with racist" talking point is just an Orwellian attempt by reactionaries to silence people who call them out on their dog whistle.
It isn't a racial slur. You can believe it is. But it isn't. That aside, doesn't matter. You just proved just how ignorant you are. "Orwellian" is based on socialist tactics. Orwell himself was a practicing socialist (and atheist than went to church every Sunday, ironically). You ran into someone who has the facts straight. Keep on responding. I'll just keep shredding you useless comments apart.
@Zeus_66 It has been widely used as a derogatory term for Native Americans and the use of things are called "Orwellian" because he described that behavior, not because he advocated it. Obviously you're completely clueless about history.
Yep. My Ivy League education and worldly experience has definitely not served me well. I unfortunately have the burden of understanding and respecting our great Republic for all that is stands for and the liberty it offers. I should just take my white privileged ass out and shoot myself immediately.
Go read "1984" when you have a chance, my consumed globalist pawn. Maybe you'll get some insight on a thing or two. Doubt it. But I can always hope.
@Zeus_66 And what does that have to do with Orwellian tactics being Socialist because Orwell described it (even though he never advocated it)? Quit talking out of your ass.
Yet again, another feeble response. Dude, you ain't gonna win. My intellect is superior to yours, and it always will be.
So says the responder who doesn't say anything with substance.
Look. I already told you that you ain't gonna win. You can keep trying. But it ain't happening. Remember, you started this by stating the name "Redskins" is a racial slur, yet didn't back it up with anything. And why would a team name themselves after a slur? You mean it never crossed your mind that the team was named that based on a warrior's spirit in battle? It never ceases to amaze me that you have no clue.
Just go and commit a federal crime and knock down a Ulysses S. Grant statue or something.@Zeus_66 It's such common knowledge that asking someone to site it being a racist term would be like someone asking to site "n**" as being a racist term. But apparently since you need basic info spoon fed to you:
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/redskin
https://www.dictionary.com/browse/redskinYet again, two liberal sources that have decided to change the definition. Not even CLOSE to the n-word in any which way, shape, or form. I have never once heard the term "redskin" used other than the goddman team's name. And neither have you.
@Zeus_66 Yeah, that's because you have your head buried up your ass and rely on anecdotes instead of actually researching the topic.
Your dictionary. com definition is hilarious, considering Native Americans are always puzzled by being called Indians. Amazing.
And more cheap shots come my way. Stop while you're behind. You're just becoming more and more pathetic.
@Zeus_66 Yeah because it's DEFINED as a racial slur. And you're saying that I "look like a white supremacist" and you're saying I'm throwing cheap shots? Talk about projection.
Learned it by watching you.
Already told you that your liberal sources definitions mean nothing to me.
When's the next klan meeting. You don't wanna be late. After all, the KKK is a liberal organization brought you by your beloved DemoKKKratic Party circa 1871@Zeus_66 Oh wow, now dictionaries are liberally biased sources -_- but what more should you expect from someone who can't see that party positions change after 150+ years.
They never did. This has been a liberal hoax for over 50 years. I understand why you're trying to erase history. But you can't.
@Zeus_66 Except they did and you labeling it a "hoax" doesn't change the reality of the situation.
Whatever. If you wanna continue this discussion, PM me. Sick of you mentioning and responding every single time. Just blows my phone up. I'm tolerant of many things. But continuously blowing up my phone ain't cool. Just PM bro.
@Zeus_66 I can't message you because you're not following me dumbass. You claim to know about history but don't even remember your profile settings.
Yep. Mixing the use of a social media platform and knowing U. S. history are synonymous. I should've known better. Yes, note sarcasm.
@Zeus_66 Nope but if you can't figure out something so basic then comprehending more complex things like historic nuances is way above your pay grade.
