So my question is, is car racing a “sport” since the advantages of one sex over the other is now irrelevant because the car is doing the work?
Please have an intelligent response, haters go home.

Well a sport is defined as
“an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.”
I think I would define e-games and chess as competitions. The difference being that one has activity involved.
Yeah I know, I put the / sign because some people classify it as a sport and others claim it’s a competition.
I love games and chess ironically lol
Just want to let you know, I ride horses and my dad races cars, both sports require a lot more than just intelligence and skill. The fitness and strength required for it is really underestimated.
No sports are based on physical activity. Thus playing chess isn’t a sport, playing Xbox isn’t a sport. They’re competitions.
That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying that when you level the playing field and take away the natural advantages of one sex over the other it no longer a sport. It’s a competition.
I used to race desert bikes and for me 400 Riders 500 Riders is a competition that's not a sport

What's Your Opinion? Sign Up Now!Auto racing is somewhat physical. But it’s more of a competition of skill rather than activity. Kinda like playing e-games isn’t a sport. It’s still somewhat physical but more of a test of skill.
Think it depends on the type of racing too. For example, you will find many more women in drag racing than Formula 1.
My point is though, if we level the playing field so that men and women are equal can it be called a sport? Removing the advantages of one sex over the other so they participate together makes it a competition not a sport. Like playing chess. When you remove the physical element men and women compete together.
But a sport is defined by physical activity. So rather than having the risk of death drivers could compete in virtual reality.
Driving is a physical activity and some sports involve riding a horse and killing furry little animals or pieces of clay.
I agree with you. I think car racing is a sport. It happens to be a sport that both genders can compete in together.
Driving a racing car takes physicality and skill just like any other sport. Not brute strength but hand to eye co-ordination and timing. Both men and women can compete.
Indeed, in their defense women have never been afforded a superior car, crew etc. However, if a woman driver was talented enough to win consistently I think that would happen.
@sixtyeightplusone first of all that’s a sexist antiquated way of thinking. Plus no one cares what you think. Next time you want to open your mouth and express your opinion on a subject maybe first read and comprehend the question. If someone asks you “how does your food taste?”, you should answer with, “I need an oil change.”
I guess I'll just cling to my guns and religion then, I'm deplorable! hahahahahahahaha!!!
@sixtyeightplusone that much is obvious as is your proclivity to be abhorrent.
