The person I’m trying to text has an iPhone and usually the texts that get sent are blue and say delivered. I tried to text the person today and it automatically sent as a green text message.

that happens if the person isn’t using iPhone messaging, because you can turn it off. Also if they don’t have WiFi access or they turned off their data, you both will be texting in green. You can still text them in iPhone messaging even when blocked however, if you look under neath your text it should say “delivered” if it doesn’t then you’ve been blocked.
