I've been thinking of how to reach out over that platform, but nothing really comes to mind. I'd look like a dipshit just sitting in a chair talking to myself. Much like politics I've avoided social media, but it's become obvious that it's a massive influential force that I can't ignore to be relevant outside my small circle/community as "me"
Thanks for MHO.
Yeah, I'm thinking about starting twitter, IG, and FB to repost the same content as I do on here, solely to see how long it is before they are banned. I'd say YouTube as well, but I can't figure how to make that work in my head.
YouTube acts like a little bitch only on matters of political nature. Still ridiculous, but you know Google. Facebook, Twitter and whatever else exists will ban you for publishing anything "too sexual", all the while pushing for online prostitution as "empowering". Women are really dumb in this millennium.
I will say the last part resonates a lot with me. Seeing content that simply encourages women to be sluts and absolutely destroy whatever value they could have in a relationship makes me worried for how my little ones will react when inevitably they run into it.There is a point where kids have to figure shit out on their own and deal with the consequences. I just hope I give them good enough tools to not fall for BS narratives like that, but who knows what the future holds until you're there.
Education. You gotta be there for your children. Teach them what life actually is and that life is not a walk in the park as the "trophy generations" keep chanting about, only to end up alone and miserable. Make them grow up strong in body and principles, and no challenge will be too hard for them. The miserable generations we are faced with are the byproduct of non-present parents who delegate their job to TV and internet. Let's not make the same mistake. I'm gonna be a father in about half a year, that kid will be a freaking bulldozer when they grow up.

Well yeah, you being you doesn't mean "oh, open up about everything" That's being told what to say in a different way. You talk about what you feel like, when you feel like it.
There's one thing about divided opinions, obviously... they're just opinions, and they're quite dividing... lol.I don't like to get involved on that really, because I rarely get anything out if. People are way too close minded when they go to extreme takes. There's also a lot of biased propaganda, and that's not just coming from the media but it's repeated and amplified by people so I have little or no interest on that.I am one to base my perspective on actual experiences I have lived, many others base their perspectives on ideals or bias rather than experience, and that's when I don't see how could I ever invest myself that much because there's not that much for me to "gain."One example, "the border crisis" I have lived on both sides of the border for years, I know first hand how it has been in the 90's, in the 2000's, and from 2010 till 2021... I see it every day, I live it... So I get to see a lot of clueless opinions about it in here, 90% of it is just repeated propaganda, and very far away from any actual truth. If I were to explain any of it to them, they would not listen one bit, why... it won't serve their agenda, they will just keep repeating their bias. So that, to me, is pointless. I just don't engage with people that have extreme-strong opinions that much, all they want to do is to impose their views, and get loud about it.
My experience with the border was logistics, which was pretty calm and peaceful unless the cartels were clashing. Seeing cartels at war in Nuevo Laredo is fucking horrifying, pretty much a beauty pageant of who can mangle who the worst for public display.Mexico's a nice country, by and large so are the people, it's the cartels and our insatiable hunger for drugs that fuck it all up. I haven't spent enough time in central america to know if they'd still be as stabby without coke to ship, but seeing as alcoholics were more common than crack-heads, the regional demand for coke isn't that high compared to the amount produced.
RIght, most people would not understand that at a place like Nuevo Laredo, you can wake up and go on with your day, have your peace and calm, and then out of nowhere, it can be total and absolute mayhem for a couple of hours and then again... "back to normal" peace and calm again. It is quite a complex situation, and all other border matters are equally or even more complex.People like to take very extreme and at the same time simplistic positions, about things that are way too intricate.
It's because they don't want to understand. Every country has illegal immigrants, but at some point they put a policy in place to deal with it. Be it a wall, access to citizenship, a DMZ where you can be shot on sight, what have you. The US approach to illegal immigrants for generations now has been "we'll get to it" Now there are two problems, cumulative build up of people coming in with no documentation, and a massive drive by coyotes to make a shitload of money while Biden is there. I wouldn't be surprised if they were buying buses new by this point and working from a corporate model with all the money they're making. Mexico has little incentive to help, or stop them as we destroyed NAFTA, and they're just passing through. Pay the bribes, don't drop the people off in Mexico, carry on. We're getting bit on the ass for treating illegal immigration as a non-issue for so long that we can't even bring it up as an issue, or talk rationally about solutions without people either being polarized or not giving a shit. I figure it's the same as BLM, Antifa, or having unprotected sex and wondering how you got an STD. If you see the problem coming from a mile away and do nothing at all about it, tough titty, consequences come calling eventually.I guarantee Mexico already has a plan to enact if US citizens, or Central American ones start migrating en masse into their borders, same with the countries in Central and South America. They have to fear assassinations, they produce results lol
Well, here's a little fact for you, that is not well known by most Americans. There are already dozens of thousands of Americans living in Mexico without the proper documentation, and that has been happening for decades now. And it is not a problem, and there's no real pressure from the government to get the required documentation.A lot of these Americans are retired people, and middle aged people. The older ones just want to leave at a nice place, they have their savings, they get their places, they just enjoy the rest of their lives. The Mexican government does not interfere with that, even if they already occupied almost and entire town or city, it is not an issue. The issues start for those that are middle-aged or younger, because they usually start businesses and acquire more property, so the ideal for them would be to apply for the required documentation, however... they won't always do this, they decide to live here and make a life "illegally" and for the most paet, the government does not interfere with that either, why? because they're making a living on their own, and assuming the difficulties on their own. There's also plenty of Americans doing bad and illegal business, and again... the government does not intefere that much with them, why? because it's Mexico, corrupttion and impunity + American dollars power and influence, makes it easy for them. There's almost 2 million Americans living in Mexico today, and not all of them are legal... The Mexican govenment does not have a real problem with it, because it is just not a major issue, the vast majority of them are decent people living a decent life.
The other past is about the legal status of many Mexicans in the USA.There are millions of Mexicans living and working in the USA, many of them hold working visas, or tourist visas. Many of them are on a path to citizenship, a process that can take 5 to 10 years.A lot of them are decent people making a decent living, the problem is that Visas expires, and these people won't always renew them... and that's what makes them illegal automatically, these are the millions... put they're put in the same category as the very very few in comparison that actually made an undocumented run through the border. Most Americans won't make a distinction between the two, either they just don't want to do it, or they just can't even start to comprehend complex situations like these.
I know very little about the expat communities in Mexico, and never bothered getting any paperwork myself. Like I know you're supposed to get a sticker for your car to drive it in Mexico, but it was always easier to just bribe someone rather than wait in line and deal with the paperwork. One of my biggest issues with the illegal immigrants is the last point you made, I've worked with many legal immigrants over the years, and saw long before this how they were treated the same as illegals, low pay, shit jobs, and people being openly hostile unless they did travel in groups to discourage that. They have to live at such a ridiculous standard to keep that green card, no arrests, no break in employment, all dotted i's and crossed t's on their paperwork. To allow a massive wave of illegals in is to spit in their faces as they would be the first to be deported if anything gets fucked up. Their job and home are on file.Call it what you will, but I think the border needs to be shut down, closed, sealed, and simply put it to vote what to do with the illegals currently here, don't trust politicians with that decision. State by state let them make that call. Reform the immigration process while that's happening. I mean, the US doesn't NEED immigrants today. We sure as hell will in about 20 years though when depopulation catches up from our citizens not reproducing enough though. Really keep immigration an area that's dynamic and can respond to change rather than a static entity that works best through marriage for US citizenship, or starting a shell company of your own to be your own employee at to never be unemployed.
The border "closed and sealed" is just something I cannot take seriously as an argument. The border is a lot more than just legal and illegal people. Also, when you say the USA does not need immigrants anymore, that's just naive. The USA will always have needs for truckers, as many as 150,000 truckers from Mexico do work in the USA and Canada, and those are jobs that not so many Americans were willing to take anymore, for whatever reason you want, they just haven't.How long will the USA can stand without Amazon and other essential goods at the supermarkets, did you see how crazy some people got over toilet paper? and that was not even an actual issue, so imagine the US closing the door to the millions of jobs done by immigrants, the actual jobs that keep the economy going, you clearly don't have an idea of what all of this implies. You just have not looked into it as it really is, because you don't have a need to do so.But I do, my business is about border trade, and delivery of "essentials" I know first hand about these things.
I would say something about your age and parents opinions, but my father in law still hopes my wife will divorce me for a better Asian guy, so I have no room to judge there lol
No, trust me I get it. It's just this whole thing of wanting their love, not getting it, me going off on my own then hearing from them when they want something or they don't approve of something I said or did. Repeat the process.
I cut that circle a long time ago. If you try to come to a middle ground with someone, they still call you a piece of shit, and only find reasons to dislike you, forget it, they'll never have a positive opinion of you. It sucks to accept that. I had to tell my wife that a long time ago, focus on having a good relationship with your parents, just leave me out of it, and you'll get along better. The visits are longer when I'm not there, less awkward, and you can actually talk.I don't want to be friends with them anyway, so as long as they stopped giving her shit, whatever works. Actually that decision got her mom to respect me more and we talk a little now. Her dad just has to keep thinking of new reasons to hate me, and that's fine, everyone needs a hobby lol
They can call me whatever they like. I've had it happen here on some of my comments. I can be nice about it, I can give it back to them, but in the end I'd rather just find that middle ground so that maybe, JUST maybe more people might see eye to eye the next time they disagree on something initially.
I feel similar, I tried to ask something similar I had asked here on FB, it simply got ignored.
Yes, I found that too because the one responding may also be thinking 'oh someone might read my reply.. Shame' , I might just wait to see who answers.. In the end no one does.
Well when you know people you have more latitude to give each other shit and understand each other better. You don't know anyone online until you actually meet and have some drinks together. That's the only reason I held on to FB, some of my friends bounce around, change numbers, countries, states, or fall off the radar frequently, it's like an international texting service lol
Yeah exactly, also we are pretty much all ex or serving members of HM Forces, which means we can be really brutal with each other lol.
Yeah, when I go out drinking with other vets or we're talking, it's par for the course. Someone's getting their ass kicked and we'll laugh it off later, ahh, I miss my brothers lol
Yeah, the "shadow bans" interest me more so than the removed content and cancelling. So many harmless euphemisms for modern censorship and book burning.
I was unaware that was happening. The thing is, if the left wing ideology we see today were so good and so appealing, wouldn’t people readily accept it? That’s one major thing that indicates the level of evil with what’s going on. The need to deceive people to get them to accept and endorse current left wing ideology. If what they wanted to implement was so good, and agreeable by the majority of the population and so desirable people would most likely readily endorse and accept it. However, they know people won’t, so they need to deceive them into accepting. When that doesn’t work they punish them. They try to shut down their businesses. They demonize them in the media. They slander them and send the FBI to investigate them. These people are ruthless and will use any means necessary to achieve their agenda. If lying is required to achieve your agenda, that’s an indicator of Machiavellian thinking. It’s also an indicator you stand on the wrong side of history. Martin Luther for example wanted to change the corruptions and erroneous doctrines of the Catholic Church. He didn’t need to lie and deceive to do it. He confronted his adversaries with the truth. When you have to lie, manipulate, and deceive to achieve your agenda, even if you believe it’s a good agenda then something is very wrong. If you will lie and manipulate and deceive to pass your agenda, you will also mass murder people as the Nazis did to create a “better world”, because there are no limits for you and nothing is unacceptable.
Well, it's because only a minority of people actually want the changes they're pushing, and everyone else is too scared (too much of a bitch) to say/do anything about it. When they reach a breaking point and do, if they have a following they have to be shut down. If 5% of people support and vote for something, and no one stands against them, that 5% is the majority. The right still sees this as a game of chess they can win when the rules are gone. Most of them are just trying to stop moves that would prevent them from grabbing the increase of power in the future. It's pathetic. No one will organize to stand against this because of fear, "oh, what if I'm called a bad name?". While cities are burning.I don't see civil war, just states breaking away to be different countries, Southeast region, West, Northeast, so on and so forth. Military and law enforcement don't have the numbers to stop that, and I don't see anyone organizing anything to prevent that path that shatters America irrevocably. I think they're going to win and achieve their goals, another Martin Luther summed that up well "In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends"
You make some excellent points. I’m not sure if it’s a minority that want these changes or not. Seems like there is no shortage of indoctrinated followers at this point. You are right about people not standing up. I think people did stand up in the last election. I do think there was fraud in the last election, however to what extent I’m not sure. Certainly the game is rigged from the polls to the media coverage. You are right that the right is playing by the rules in a rigged game. Frankly those of us who do not consent to the things that are happening need to stir things up more. I doubt there will be a civil war as well, mainly because the opposing sides in such a war are mixed. There is no Mason-Dixon Line. With one side north and the other south of it. There are a mixture of everything in each city and state across the country. It would be a revolution not civil war that would be necessary ending with taking control of the government to facilitate changes for one side or the other. I think you’re right. They will win. What can stop them? We’re way too far down the rabbit hole now.
The mods on here wouldn't hit you with the hammer for just being you. Or if you did want to invite more people over to here as a friendly platform. At least, I can't imagine them doing so as long as you respect other people have their own opinions. Try using mIRC if you feel that ostracized. Dalnet should still be up, and Rizzon. Just start a channel on one of those servers for chat (assuming one doesn't already exist), have a bot for intro and rules, keep it simple. It's old school tech, but also very relevant, you can find many things on IRC. Be sure to use a VPN and firewall if you connect though, it's a good training ground for hacking, so you'll have to play defense if you don't know any offense.
Hurt feelings online! Say it isn't so! Just say it makes you cry every time someone says Ok Boomer, fight fire with fire lol
I was just getting back into FB and surprised by how my attitude had shifted, also how that affected my "friends". The same way my followers rose meteorically on here, they dropped just as fast on there lol. I have a feeling it would work the same for any strongly held opinion.
This is true I'm just busy & try to limit my use with media use or social areas
Reddit is a strange echoey place now...
Yeah, I usually join the really small communities.
Just on opinions?
Just freedom 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Yeah, I don't feel like I'll get doxed or targeted by a bot-net on here. I'm thinking of branching out onto other platforms and seeing how that goes, like a destruction test.
Very true. And I don’t dare branch to another platform lmao. I would never get anything done. 🤣
Well that's awesome, high school is certainly a strange time of inclusion, exclusion, and cliques. That persists through adult life, but isn't as bad as school.
That's good. I'm just getting back into FB after taking a break for a few years and finding, well, just a lot of memes and very little content. I'll try other platforms, but think I'll find the same elsewhere.
I'd say we should ask each other those questions more, but I think most people interested in discussion or compromise are already at places like this. So many more just want to re-affirm their confirmation bias.
Agreed, although I was actually thinking of the more silly questions on here like, "Why do guys/girls do this?" Or "Do you prefer mashed potatoes or baked potatoes?" :-D I don't encounter questions like that IRL or on other sites at such frequency.
I found some of them really thought-provoking like do I prefer baked potatoes or mashed potatoes? That is such a hard question! I lean towards the baked potatoes. But it's really a tough call.
But what if instead of boiling and mashing, you baked and mashed your potato? We are entering uncharted water here boys.
I think I'd have to really sleep on that one. Well, one thing I learned contemplating such questions is that I like melted cheese and sour cream on any kind of potato -- baked or mashed.
All I see on FB now when I want to talk to my friends overseas is a shitload of memes, no real conversations. If they removed the chat/call function imgur could replace it in about 5 minutes.
You are probably right. I did like some of the videos on there, but the other stuff was just too much.
Shit I can say I am campaigning to be the head of Mosquito Control and get GaG fined $25,000 a day.
Can you clarify? Like removing your content, not promoting it, temp ban? I only had one issue there, and reported myself because of a gross violation of ToS. Content removed, temp ban, IP ban was a possibility. Besides that, which was 100% on me reacting to troll-bait, I haven't had any issues. That's me though, what happened on your end? Especially to consider suing... also most of those positions are appointed ones, not elected. Like fire chief, police commissioner, your city council, mayor, sheriff, whatever your structure puts them in place, and removes them at will. It's why in many government jobs you pass up promotion to the top spot unless you're about to retire, you could get it, have your boss get involved in a scandal, then be dismissed during "house cleaning".
In Florida many of those seats are electable offices in either city or county elections. In Florida a candidate is defined in 97.051(5), Florida Statute, as any person to whom any one or more of the following applies:-Any person who seeks to qualify for nomination or election by means of the petitioning process;-Any person who seeks to qualify for election as a write-in candidate;-Any person who receives contributions or makes expenditures or gives his or her consent for any other person to receive contributions or make expenditures with a view to bringing about his or her nomination or election to, or retention in, public office;-Any person who appoints a treasurer and designates a primary depository;-Any person who files qualification papers and subscribes to a candidate’s oath as required by law.-However, this definition does not include any candidates for a political party executive committee. So technically any Florida resident that fills out and turns in a form declaring themselves as a write in candidate for some county seat like school board member, soil & water conservation district, mosquito control, hospital district, or possibly even a supervisor of a community development district, etc. could do this. There are a number of seats that come up for election regularly, thus someone could be a politician running for any given office at any given time so long as they are willing to fill out a one page form and walk it into a city or county building depending on the office seat. The penalties are $25,000 a day for banning a political candidate and $250,000 a day for banning a political candidate that is currently running for office.
There is also language for Florida corporations that are journalistic enterprises. Those protected have to be of a particular size or larger. So if you have 100,000 monthly active users or 50,000 paid subscribers you are protected as a Florida corporation from things like shadow banning regardless if it is by an admin or a filtering algorithm, users have to be able to opt out of shadow banning, etc. I haven’t dug into all the details yet, but youtubers like Tim Pool seem to be very excited about it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdaHh_l3BdE
As far as content that is removed. GAG regularly removed political opinions. They have bias moderators. In the morning one set of moderators will be OK with a right leaning political opinion, but at night a different set of moderators will delete your opinion. So due to GAG giving powers to a bunch of power hungry zealots they will likely get sued or fined into non-existence and have their bank and advertising accounts garnished in the USA.
I enjoy disagreeing with you too :)
Yeah, the ToS are fair, and you have to violate them pretty hard to get content removed, or even a temp ban. From what I've seen, as long as you treat people with respect it's all gravy.
i would agree
Heh, well it has my stamp of approval as well or I wouldn't be here.
Yes that is true.
It is unique. There were IRC chats I felt as open in, but those by nature were very exclusive, so there was no wider audience or attraction, if half the chat migrated elsewhere, the group simply collapsed.
Lack of desire to, or worry about repercussions?
more so the fact that i have social contacts on there. knowing how quickly people read shit out of context, condemning you and shunning you in real life not even giving you a chance to give them the necessary context to understand what you said. and even upon recieving the context, they alreeady made their decision that is not unchangeable. humans are crappy buffoons. yet i need them as i depend on their company.
my opinions about covid for example, i couldn't help but talk about on social media, cause the opinions of people i know mattered for me. lost half my friends, cause they think i'm a delusional "consiracy theorist", when the conspiracy is so open and clearly to see for everyone in plain sight.
So repercussions, like not wanting your social circle to suddenly be jerked over to Qanon, Antifa or something because that's where the outcasts gather. There is a name for what you're running into, confirmation bias. Lots of studies done on it too, it's extremely fascinating to me.
actually as i found out, the "friends" that i lost actually were people who supported antifa. they actually went on demonstrations. i have to admit to my shame that i never "really" knew what antifas motives and methods are. all i heard is that "they are fighting nazis", which i thought wasn't too bad, cause nazis should be fought in my german opinion... however i did not know that they will just openly threatten with and commit acts of violence against law abiding citizens that they strawman as nazis. maybe sometimes they actually fight nazis but more often than not, they don't.
and trust me i know confirmation bias. that's why i cosntantly go through the annoyance to expose myself to ideas that contradict me. and to my surprise, i never really find any one being able to show me the sources they base their opinion on. i see them hastily googling up a "scientific" headline that roughly says the thing they were arguning for and when you actually read the publication, they don't cunclude anything that would actually support their argument.
guess it's rare that people actually go and read the sources instead of just believing anything that is claimed about the source without checking.
I'm thinking of getting involved there to see how they are. I only have a FB for talking to friends who are overseas, how that turns out is something that intrigues me, and there's only one way to find out lol.
I'm thinking I'll start some fresh social media and start pushing content the same as on here and see how long it is until such measures start happening.
Where do you place your bet, based on how I carry myself, temp ban or IP ban right off the bat? lol
In what ways?
You can't give 18+ comment on other site it may block the account
How often would you say you share or post on here compared to your other platforms?
