It's based in Iceland.website says:Icelandic LawIceland has some of the strongest privacy laws globally, allowing anonymous browsing and the immediate deletion of personal information.
Hmm, okay but Iceland eats out of the hand of the US and therefore, to me it is not trustworthy. They will definitely leave a backdoor open for the NSA and other agency to intercept and read your mail.If your concern is safety, then go for the Swiss company Protonmail. They do not allow the US to interfere with their security.
I just tried out proton mail it looks good and is what I'm looking for for free accounts, not trying to pay anything because I have a lot of stuff to pay monthly like bills and a bit in debt. Also in Proton mails Terms and Conditions it says this: Although it is not the current practice, we reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that are inactive for over three months. Paid accounts with active paid status are not subject to this measure. But I need to create about 5 accounts with them, and I don't want to loose access if I'm not logged in for 3 months.
