I voted not sure. I speak Chinese and I like the culture and the food and the tourist attractions but there are two things that concern mea) I react negatively to the oils they use in their food because Chinese restaurants are regulated by a different standard than North American restaurants so there is a higher chance of food borne sickness. For example - since I consume Canadian dairy - I get diarrhea when I consume Chinese yogurt because my stomach does not have the dairy enzymes to process the type of yogurt they sell there.b) I tend to get dehydrated in high heat areas and China is closer to the equator then my home in Canada so I might get very thirsty while therec) In China the washrooms sometimes are stand in and not sit down meaning I risk making a mess when I go to relieve myself due to a lack of familiarity with themd) I get panic attacks mostly every time I am on an airplane and a flight to China from Canada is 14 hoursThat saidI have a lot of rich family members in China so if I went there I'd be sleeping in 5 star apartments and hotels and dining at 5 star eating areas and visiting some of the most beautiful museums and tourist attractions in the world and I'd had dozens of paid professionals who could take care of me while I'm there like chauffeurs or cooks or nurses or cleaners etc...
Do you get panic attacks because you're so high up, or are you scared of the plane crashing, or both?
I think it's a fear of falling and crashing. I used to have an intense phobia of air planes but I've improved over the years - I'm now scared during turbulence and landing but not during other times on the plane.
Not anymoreIt was on my bucketlist many years ago, but I don't want to go anymore after I found out how rude and racist the people areTaiwan was enough for me. I will never set foot in East Asia againThose people don't like me and I don't like THEM and their customs
I here that. Was in Vietnam a few years ago, lovely people but the Chinese tourists were tools, they'd push right through you. One even knocked my girl over. One time in a shopping centre one guy decides to take a dump in the elevator.
@Blitzkrieg_88 Vietnamese could be. I heard they're quite fond of Americans, but still too much culture shock. He knocked your girl over? Fuck, I would've kicked his fucking ass! Then they are surprised and angry when they go to Europe and people make racist gestures towards them.OMG! That is DISGUSTING! Who does that? I am convinced 100% now that they are only half human
Kung fu didn't save the fucker. Vietnamese police were very understanding, no charges.
China is way better than Saudi Arabia is
@Blitzkrieg_88 Vietnamese are actually very hospitable towards Americans, despite the fact that we killed thousands of their people and couldn't save them from Communism@Blitzkrieg_88, well YEAH
We killed millions not thousands. Agent orange is still taking a toll. We interceded in a civil war at the request of the South Vietnamese government without a clear plan to win it, major blunder. The north vietmese had already anticipated American involvement in the 50s when they were defeating the French and had worked out how to defeat the US.When we left we set up ARVN as the fourth most powerful military force in the world (at least on paper), bad leadership and generals cost them the war.
I enjoyed my visit to Hong Kong, but now that Communist China has taken it over, it is being ruined in just about every way. And visiting there is taking your life in your hands right now.
I'm interested in going to a lot of countries. Not so keen on countries with totalitarian governments.
The more I hear about how repressive China is, the less I want to go there.
It is way better than Saudi Arabia isThere are no religious nuts making laws in China
@NorthwestRider : In China, they just kill you, as they did in Tianamen Square, and following. And they imprison you, and likely harvest your organs, if you belong to a religion the government isn't happy with..
I am an Atheist
@NorthwestRider: Which matters how? Does that make it OK that China kills people with a religion?
I would, it's a beautiful country, and I'd like to visit Shaolin temple.
Not my favorite country, but I rather visit China than some religious shithole such as Saudi Arabia or Nigeria
For business trip with a personal tour guide-translator, yes.
what i would really like to do is a banger trek accross russia mongolia and china.
I've already been there and it's not a bad place :)
Just came back from over a year in Northern China. It is dirty and crowded, though I have also been to India and compared to that China is a paradise.
Oh and a word of advice, if anyone visits northern China during the winter time wear your long johns. I neglected to do so and got sick for two weeks.
I’ve been and it was awesome but right now it’s a bit dangerous
Not really, with the trade war you might find it hard to get a visa, but once you are there you are safe. Murder and mugging rates are very low.
im not against it but it doesn't particularity interest me
No. Not a fan of countries with dictatorial regimes
Yeah, but probably somewhere in Guangdong or Yunnan. Beijing is too polluted.
No. If I did, I fear they would set a honeytrap.
Yeah, Chinese women are hot...
I would go to north Korea before I went to china
I would love to visit.
It's complicated and has to do with national security
You can go now. Trump decided that you are no longer needed and are a threat to his re-election, so he is letting you leave.
Yes for sure 😁
