Since President Barack Obama first took office: The economy has added nearly 10.7 million jobs. Median household income has gone up $1,140, or 2 percent. The buying power of the average worker’s weekly paycheck is up 4.2 percent. Median sales prices of existing single-family homes are up 23 percent. The unemployment rate has dropped well below the historical norm; job openings are at a 15-year high. Corporate profits and stock prices have both soared to record highs. The number of people lacking health insurance has gone down by 16.5 million. The murder rate is down nearly 5 percent, despite an increase in 2015. The number of unauthorized immigrants estimated to be living in the U. S. is down, according to demographers. Wind and solar power have quadrupled; coal production has dropped 36 percent; carbon emissions have gone down 12 percent.www.factcheck.org/.../
However, the poverty rate is still 0.3 percentage points higher, and the number of Americans on food stamps is up nearly 36 percent.Federal debt has more than doubled, and annual federal deficits, after shrinking, are again on the rise. The home ownership rate has dropped to the lowest point in more than 50 years.Handgun production has more than doubled.
@goaded yeah it's fun to manipulate statistics isn't it? lol. you can literally prove anything with numbers. Both sides can and do mess with the numbers to show what they want and they always will. Just curious. Why do you think the stock market has surged to all-time highs now? and it happened the day after Trump was elected? Here's a hint... it's because people want the changes that Trump will bring ;) Read the factual news. Steel industry projected to bring back 10k jobs "due to Trump policies" Ford cancelling Mexico plant and moving jobs to USA "due to TRUMP policies". Those are quotes from the men running the companies.
It's much easier to just make stuff up.What, exactly, do you think I've manipulated? The second part I gave was even the downsides of Obama's years in office.Just one metric, the Dow Jones industrial averages:Jan 2001 10940Jan 2005 10490Jan 2009 8001Jan 2013 14054Jan 2017 19943https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/%5EDJI?ltr=1But "Nobody has hurt us more than Obama".Would you prefer jobs created?About 11M under Obama, 1.3M under Bush (and 22M under Bill Clinton).en.wikipedia.org/.../...ng_U.S._presidential_termsAmericans killed by terrorists?(Remember 9/11?)But "Nobody has hurt us more than Obama".Maybe, just maybe Trump won't be the disaster I expect him to be, but to say Obama has hurt the country is just plainly, factually, emphatically wrong.
@goaded not saying you've manipulated anything. But the sites that "gather info." do it all the time. They present us with the facts twisted to whatever their agenda is. Is there really more jobs? Or is it just that more people have stopped applying for the non-existent jobs and are collecting aid from the government? My town alone is down thousands of jobs since he took office. Maybe we all need to move to California to find the jobs? o. o because they aren't here anymore. 9/11 was one horrific attack :( but look what Obama has allowed to be created. We live now in a nation with constant terrorist threats and attacks. Mostly small scale but happening more frequently. This has not been stopped by Obama but allowed to flourish. He stands up and speaks against the Christians because of their hate... but defends the Muslims that are waging war against us. stock market goes up and down but obviously businesses are coming back to the USA because of Trump's plans. Not Obamas.
Dont forget the flop Obamacare is and Obama can't even say radical Islamic terrorist... if you can't say it how are you going to fight it.
I understand your frustration, but yes, I think there really are more jobs, because that's what the numbers say (unless you think they lie depending on the party of the president). As I understand it, it's very hard in the US to claim aid from the government if you are not actively working or looking for work, in which case you are counted.Perhaps California is the place to go for jobs; at least you don't have to learn a new language, like you do in Europe. As for terrorist attacks, have there been any near you? There was one half a mile from where I used to live in London a few years ago, apart from that the nearest was hundreds of miles away, in Berlin. Bombs from the second world war are discovered more frequently than there are terrorist attacks. Not that long ago IRA bombs were going off in England, financed in part by at least one of your Republican congressmen.Get over it, it's not an existential threat to the USA unless you give up your freedoms for a false sense of security.
@Rissyanne You blocked me, how dare you comment on an opinion I'm replying to. I'll report you! :)
I was not talking to you. I was talking to anon. If I was talking to you... I would have acknowledged you.
They put shit like that all on bumper stickers
@Waffles731 I do not recall any of that happening before Obama took office.
I do remember something about a birther movement and the president elect only admitted he was born in the states in the past couple months

All my mytakes are about sex, although it's so cool anyone noticed.
Haha and I do read most of your my takes, I should just go ahead and follow you on gag right? Ohh and about the trump question I really have no idea haha, since I don't live in the US I don't really know much about what's going on over there
Sure follow me!
We knew what Clinton was going to be a bad president, and we don't really know if Trump will be good or bad. So basically if Clinton won, it would be terrible but Trump has a chance of being good. Also a lot of people agree with his stance on a lot of topics.
@Thisperson98 Yes so will Trump case closed
We don't know that yet.
I don't think Trump will have any of the control he thought he would.
