What? Why won't you try to go back to the moon?
We destroyed the technology to reach the moon?

Destroyed the technology to go to the moon? I call bullshit on that! You wouldn't want to go to the moon with 1969 technology anyway. We have 100x more computing power in a cell phone than the Apollo astronauts had in their entire rocket that took them there decades ago.
It was those missions that literally developed microwave ovens, wireless remote controls, computers and cell phones, and a whole host of survival gear that's lightweight and incredibly strong. We don't have the technology? Total bullshit!1
What he's saying is that if going to the Moon became a priority for some reason, we couldn't just dust off the specs for the Apollo missions and head on up there in a couple of weeks.
This is a good example of what happens when you don't make space exploration a public policy priority for a few decades.1
That guy is an idiot.
NASA does not technically have the "technology" to go back to the moon as in they dont have the rockets to do it anymore because they were really expensive and after the moon missions there was no need to build anymore of them. This does not mean we can't do it if we wanted to, just that we have chosen not to.
The moon is actually really damn boring all things considered. Cool we got there and stuck a flag in it but aside from the achievement we haven't actually gained anything from it. As such instead of going to the moon we much rather go to someplace such as Mars where we might someday even put a colony for permanent living.1
"We had a lot of old rockets, but we used them all up. The leftovers of other stuff were destroyed because it's pretty expensive to maintain. It's a shame, really, but we need to cut corners." That's what reality would say. There is the technology to fly to the moon, it's just expensive to go there.0
Because in fact no one ever landed into the moon, that was fake, that was staged, look for an interview of Kubrick where he, in his last days, told the whole truth about the suposed moon landings, that in fact were filmed by him, ocurred in some place at nevada´s desert if i remember properly.0
I think it's because it's one of those "been there done that" kind of thing. Every rocket lunch had to count and they would rather do stuff they haven't done before.
As for the "don't have the tech" 'shrug'0
I'm sure thefiles still exist0
Well, you can tell this person is really not one to ask that.0
Something is scaring those astronauts out of the moon am sure0
The moon is pretty shit honestly0
probably because the moon really is made of cheese and two of the side effects of space travel are an unquenchable hunger and lactose intolerance. It would just be too dangerous. :)2
