but is he a racist?
Yeah, I think he is
So violating the Fair Housing Act means nothing to you?

"there is no way to know what Mr. Trump thinks or feels in his mind and his heart of hearts" We can certainly get a good indication by looking at what laws he's broken.
@JenSCDC Not sure of the correlation, nor of the charge. However, we've been here before. An - ahem - economy with truth telling. Associations with fairly disreputable characters. An inability
An inability to keep his pants on around women not his wife.Donald Trump, meet Bill Clinton - the latter famously referred to, at least until Mr. Obama came along, as the nation's first black President. If the nation is unhappy with what it has, it reaped what it sewed. However, where all that conduces racism escapes me.
"nor of the charge. " Violating the Fair Housing Act by refusing to rent to blacks.
@JenSCDC Well, as I recall, that matter was adjudicated quite some time ago. However, given that it was a one-off, it may have had more with Mr. Trump's trying to get around NYC's arcane rent controls than anything having to do with his views on race.At any rate, whatever Mr. Trump's views on such questions as a practical question they really do not matter. The laws - civil rights and all the rest - apply and thus, assuming the worst of Mr. Trump, he cannot give them practical expression.
Talk about trying to explain away uncomfortable facts.
@JenSCDC Well, as I noted in my original reply, Mr. Trump was also - and unlike Mr. Obama - managed to get passed into law, prison sentencing reform. A policy far more beneficial to minorities - and strongly supported by them - than not.Strange behavior for a racist. My attempt was not to explain away anything. Rather to note that there are plausible alternative explanations consistent with Mr. Trump's other policies. However, those alternative explanations will not bear consideration by those who have made up their minds that they already know the unknowable.
The sky is green
So, how is refusing to rent to someone good for them?
If he's not racist, then why did he violate the Fair Housing Act?
