Pardon me but I never got spanked when I was a kid and I do know the consequences of my actions.
@dontgofalling And you weren't the one killing someone either, right?
Actually spanking children has shown rather unanimously to have no changes in possible criminality later in life and in fact it's been well documented that physically punishing your child increases their risk for violence in the future as it teaches that violence and fear solve things and it teaches us to fear the beating not understand why what we did was wrong.
@SirRexington I call baloney. When spankings were allowed back in the 50's-60's kids weren't killing others by shooting up schools. These kind of crimes only came into being when parents were no longer allowed to spank their kids.
Ok. Suit yourself. Ignore decades of scientific research.
@SirRexington What scientific research and by whom? What are the links to such research?
look it up yourself. Its not hard to find. I looked it up just by typing in "spanking children".
@EclipseoftheHeart that's right
Actually would have likely made it more possible to happen according to most pediatricians and child psychologists nowadys.
Dude there are types of disciplining. Some parents just let thier children go with anything, which is bad. A little negative reinforcement is necessary failing which there could b consequences.
I know they are. And they are ineffective. And harmful.
Dude, so many kids are disciplined. Even me. I study psychology and in no way is it harmful provided its done in limit. If u wack the kid badly or something its obvious its harmful. But in moderation, in no ways it's ineffective
