Well I had a suspicion based on the types of questions I see posted on this website and it seems to have been confirmed :)
Perhaps I should have added an "I don't really follow the news" Option, then maybe the results would have been a little less influenced by the Dunning-Kruger effect.

NBC, ABC & CBS are my usual "go to" networks in the USA.

  • I knowledge that every source has its biases due to humanity & the their and/or their employer's interests, so I diversify them, so what is not mentioned, mentioned but re-framed, deceitfully denied, or denied due to honest difference in perspective, etc. by some can be revealed by the others. I use both state news agencies (with flag: ex. 🏳) & private news companies (n/a).

  • Fox
    Washington Times
    Washington Examinor
    National Review
    Ben Shapiro
    - I always stick with center and somewhat right leaning sources because they report real news that purposely gets silenced or faked by other media sources. I mean, how can anyone trust washington post, huffington post, msnbc or cnn? It's a bunch of extreme liberal bias or fake news and nothing else. I'm very happy that Nick Sandmann sued washington post and now cnn for millions of dollars in damages. Smart kid.

But never Fox News. They sell lies, not news.

Yeah, uh... I watch all those guys too and love them, but... they're not news. They're comedians. They just repackage real journalism and reporting in a way that makes it entertaining. John Oliver even said as much in his "journalism" segment he did last year.

      @Thatsamazing
      This:
"What you missed is Jon Stewart himself getting mad when he heard responses from people of "Oh, where do you get your news?" Answer: "The Daily Show." He was not okay with that."
      And this:
"he said it on the show once. I watched him do it."
      And for @Vega1
"All of the above would fail any fact check."

    • 1d

Yes, and as I already said to OP, it wasn't on "between the scenes." It was a night where he was showing footage of people saying that they got their news first and foremost from The Daily Show, and it was clear from Stewart's following comments that he wasn't happy. It was like eight years ago, 2011ish I think. No, I don't know exactly where in fifteen years of hundreds of episodes and hundreds of hours he said it. Nor does that matter. Listen to interviews with the guy about the nature of journalism and you'll understand what I mean.

  • I don't watch new in my area. I'm subscribed to a random local news channel if I need to see what's been happening.

I mainly watch a YouTuber named "Philip DeFranco" for updates on the world. I love watching his daily vids. Here's the most recent one:

  • Um... where's the "none of the above" option? I read print news because that's how you actually learn things since they're more likely to actually go into detail, not just do broad strokes-type stuff. Or watch the PBS Newshour.

And yeah per your update dude, you have to understand how many people *choose* to be breathtakingly ignorant and stupid, who don't pay attention to anything in the real world AT ALL, because they are privileged and they just can. That's a part of your poll that is necessary but missing.

  • Not from any Main Stream Media of either persuasion they all slant their coverage to suit their own agendas, bias free news no longer exists.
