Which part of the island are you from?

I have to agree with that.
I realize on an island there's no where to go during a hurricane. You're stuck! So build the strongest building you can and find ways to divert water away as much as possible. Then build your electric power grid, water supply, and sewer systems, to withstand the effects of a hurricane as much as possible too. I can't help thinking what has the PR Gov't been doing the last 50 years?I remember hurricane Katrina and how it deluged New Orleans. People jumped all OVER the federal government and Bush for not taking care of the city, BUT... what the Hell were the Mayors of New Orleans doing beforehand for the previous 50 years too? They purposely were funded $$ millions to improve and strengthen the levees there. Instead the city spent that money on other wasteful endeavors and when the SHTF, they blamed Bush. Seeing a pic of New Orleans with over 200 school buses sitting in 4' of water when they COULD have been used to evacuate as many people as possible AND save the busses in the process proved total mismanagement by the city! Idiot local govt management and leadership is the main problem.
I don't watch anything on the news besides the weather lol
Katrina hit New Orleans (and other places along her VERY destructive path) when you were probably about 5 or 6. New Orleans was a total mismanagement mess from the city. Then the mayor added racist comments afterward saying, "We're going to rebuild the city and make it a 'chocolate' city." The thing is, they wouldn't have had to rebuild much, had they done their jobs right from the start! Even today, there's about 1/3 of that place where homes had to be torn down and they've never been rebuilt because of that hurricane.I HOPE PR learned their lesson from Michael and prepared better this time. I don't think Dorian will be as destructive, so I HOPE their recovery is much quicker.
Wish that was possible... My family keeps having to move to the mainland for months at a time. They might as well stay here.
Sounds like you were trying to make me feel dumb by the way lol
Right.https://vocaroo.com/i/s1NSwYoZYTBeThat's one of my favorite Trump quotes. As a geographer that makes me laugh so hard!
Lol I can’t believe Trump said it that way.I just thought of something. I told you that you’d make a great news reporter with your accent... and you’re a geographer... be a meteorologist. 😁
I can't either It makes him look so dumb, but it's so fucking funny!Yes Donald, that's the definition of an islandBut the water there isn't THAT big😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂You really like my accent? ?
I have seen that video a billion times. My mom played it over and over when it was on the news, even more than she did the Sweet Brown one lol

Yeah, but we always get the big wreck. Then again, we are in the middle of the ocean 🤷🏻♀️
Very true. Please keep us informed as to how everything goes so we know you are safe.
I will be, but it’s my family I’m concerned about. And thanks 😊
Yeah, it’s a pretty high price 😭
Would you rather live in bum fuck idaho?
Hell no. I live in New Haven, and I love it
Hey! Bumfuck is a nice place. And no hurricanes!
I expect to be without power for the next 2 weeks and potentially have boats driving up and down my street in the next few days unless I get really lucky.
Unphased* not unbiased
What does that have to do with the weather? 😂
