The crazy thing about the actress from full house. Her daughter has a you tube channel. I looked it up on social blade for her revenues. . She was projected to make this year between half a million to a million dollars this year just babbling about her life and showing her vacation trips. She didn't even have to go to college.
True think anyone who commits the crime should do the same length of time
Yes it is a joke for sure
Money can get you anything in the whole world not just the Uk lol
@vald9inches Sad part about it , the child they push in to these schools is usually , unable to cope in there to further some parents dream...
It is true what the say that money can get you anything, so agree

Oh, I forgot, she's also getting a year of probation...Anyway, her celebrity serves a purpose.First, she IS going to prison and that is illustrating that even celebrities go to jail. But, again, her celebrity and her contriteness do a much better role-model than someone who is a nobody. Her guilty plea and not contesting her sentence does considerable service for society. Compare that with Aunt Becky who is illustrating exactly what one should not do. About this:"Report for jail in six weeks? She should have been led out in handcuffs to serve her "sentence" immediately like the convicted criminal that she is."You have A LOT to learn about the criminal justice system. This is not at all uncommon - especially for someone who pleaded guilty to a relatively minor white collar crime like this.It depends on various factors including being a flight risk. For instance, when someone is charged with a crime ("the accused"), they are presented before a judge for a hearing at which point the charges from the district attorney's (the prosecutor's) office are read and the accused then pleads. Many accused criminals are generally considered flight risks (meaning if they think they can flee, they will), so they are usually held until trial. However, they may be offered bail. If the prosecutor doesn't have a problem with bail, the judge authorizes a bail amount. If the accused can pay it, then they go free until trial. If they cannot, they are held until trial. However, if the prosecutor thinks the crime is particularly heinous or that the accused is a flight risk, the prosecutor will say 'The people seek remand, your honor." which means to deny the opportunity for bail which the judge may agree with or simply set a very high bail amount.(more)
Well, after sentencing, depending on the crime, there are typically similar considerations.Felicity Huffman plead guilty and accepted her fate before sentencing. Likely, she was given her 6 weeks to get her affairs in order before she is incarcerated. For instance, she has to set up her community service when gets out of prison. She needs to pay her fine. She needs to address things in her private life otherwise. So, in a case like that in which she turned herself in, is contrite, plead guilty, is not a flight risk, and doesn't represent a danger to society, they let the convict have time to straighten their affairs before incarceration. Really, it's the same reason why, when she allocuted (admitted her guilt) on May 14th, she was given 5 months before sentencing yesterday.
Other parents would get a longer sentence but if they were not famous
I agree it is shameful that this can all happen
I have noticed this always seems to be the case as well
Into college. Screwed that one up lol
I totally agree, a fair sentence would be a few years at least but no doubt she has all the best lawyers money can buy
I bet that she will be spending her 14 days in a lax prison where she won't have to come in contact with any dangerous felons.
Martha Stewart was involved in a non violent crime and she got 5 months.
Charged Security fraud. Burglary is also non violent but you're taking from others what you had no right to. In Martha's Stuart case, she gained a lot of money doing that. Felicity Huffman just cheated. The only person harmed would be whoever would have gotten in the school. And she's paying for it.
If any one should be put under the microscope, it's the school for not being transparent about what their criteria for admission is. You'd think the kid would flunk out because they couldn't meet the schools standards, but apparently you can buy your way in and do jsut fine. Makes me think the school and it's diploma are a joke and probably a huge scam.
I think there was some money laundering and fraud. Not that she knew the specifics but it was her money involved so that meant she was complicit.
Something about insider trading which of course affects the company's stock and anyone who has a stake. People's livelihoods. And initially she tried to lie and cover it up. She obstructed justice. Huffman admitted to it, didn't try to profit from it, and she's no danger to anyone so no sense putting her away for years like arm chair judges in the reply section suggest.
thank you for explaining.
It so does
Definetly is the case
I agree, anyone who commits the crime should do the same length of time
She's white that's why..
is this a good time to bring up Jussie Smollett? Wait. Wrong skin color. It doesn't fit your narrative. Everything is always about race with you, even when it's clear to everyone else that this lady got off because of her celebrity status. Must be a rough life for you, seeing everything through race powered glasses.
Jussie smollett lied but didn't commit fraud. Come on now
@flowers70 he also staged a fake hate crime and falsified police reports. There's a big-ass list of people in jail right now for falsifying police reports... not even including the fake hate crime and all the other shit. lol. Racism isn't what kept Felicity Huffman out of jail. Rich people get soft sentences every single day in this world, regardless of the color of their skin. Your anger should be directed at that, rather than seeing racism where there is none. But you do you.
Again, what does that have to do with defrauding millions of schools?
@flowers70 she wasn't the criminal mastermind behind all this. She was convicted of 1 count of mail fraud, for paying someone else to take her daughter's SAT's for her to get her into the university. She most likely made a plea deal to give information on the ring leaders in exchange for a lighter sentence. I'm saying there's nothing racist about her sentence. She is famous and she has money. That's all that's required to get off easy. There are plenty of rich "non-whites" getting light sentences every day too. Common denominator = they all have money, fame or both.
Again, I'm not doing this all night. I said what I said no convincing me otherwise.
@flowers70 yeah. Whatever you do, don't let the truth change your jaded view of life. lol
@DontLookDown Dude, all you got is Jussie. I can name five folks who were sent to jail because they were poor and brown, besides Banks. A homeless mother was sent to jail for five years because she sent her child to the wrong school. A woman in Texas was sent to jail for five years because she cast an invalid ballot. Cynthia Brown was sentenced to life in prison for murdering her rapist. An American Indian woman was sentenced to 12 freaking years. For having $31 of weed. This is just off the top of my head from knowing folks and reading twitter. I didn't even need to do research for this.Felicity Huffman, "White", rich, and privileged is serving 14 days for something other people would have been serving at least five years for. This is bullshit. Period.
@DontLookDown Was he rich?www.usatoday.com/.../
@RolandCuthbert 🙌🙌😂 I knew you'd show him up
Jussie is all he's got out of billions of blacks and latinos serving a life sentence.
and I can name entire sports leagues full of rich black dudes that never served jail for the shit they did. You racist idiot. And again I see you throwing out rape cases to compare with this case... which was mail fraud. Learn to read. It'll help you go far in life sir. :) Again, to anyone who doesn't see racism in their cheerios when they wake up for breakfast, we can clearly see the world bends the knee to money and power, not to "the whites". But whatever. I know there's no changing your racist mind with facts so whatever. Have an enjoyable day.
You can’t name anything. In fact Brian Banks was one of those supposed “Black” guys who get off. Where was his get out of jail free card for a crime he did not even commit? Brock Turner was released early for a crime he committed. He actually raped a woman. Brian Banks was framed and got a pat on the back and a sorry. You call racist. You freak. I am hardly the one to pretend that race exist much less that one race is better behaved than another. I will leave such nonsense to you and to other radiologist. And I could give a damn if you acknowledge your own racist conclusions. The justice system locks away “Black” men at a rate that defies imagination. It does not take a rocket scientist to see something is wrong with our justice system. We have one of the highest incarceration rates in the world.
@Roland dont even waste your time with this guy anymore. He too PRIVILEGED to understand
But that’s the thing. He probably isn’t privileged. Daniel Shaver, look him up. He wasn’t privileged either. The police shot him down like a dog after they mentally tortured him. He was “White” and poor. Why do people who don’t benefit that much from a dysfunctional system defend it like their lives depend upon it? Even when they know it does not treat them fairly?http://xroads.virginia.edu/~MA97/price/open.htm
She should be doing a lot longer for sure
That is true
I agree that he would be looking at a longer sentence which shouldn't be the case
Oh I agree, but society is always harder on men, while giving some women a free pass, even on murder and abuse.
Sure she will suit a jumpsuit and will enjoy her jail time
That is very true
I agree, Lindsay Lohan being the prime example
Yeah and Martha Stewart probably didn’t spend as long either
Yeh not as long as she should have
2 years in prison sounds more sufficient than 14 days
Very much so
She pleaded guilty to fraud charges
It wasn’t that big of a deal
She was part of a scheme to pay to get her kid into the college. It involved quite a few actors, businessman, etc. who paid to get their kids into specific colleges. In the process some of the money transactions they did were deemed illegal and felonies. Whether the celebs knew or not the transactions where considered fraud and money laundering. Another actress from the tv show Full House is involved as well as her designer husband Mossimo who used to sell his clothes line to Target. Really liked it to but it is gone now.
@sejla Aren't you SUPPOSED to pay to go to college? I always had to.
They bride officials that the college because their kids did not have high enough grade and/or bad test scores. They wouldn't have got in any other way. I don't think the kids cared if they got into the colleges just the parents.
@sejla Maybe if they paid more attention in grade school instead of wasting their time playing with their little toy phones they'd have better grades! Then again, they could always try junior college, first. They teach classes for people that aren't quite up to college snuff.
I think jr college would have been the route to take and actually a lot of good students do that so they can save money and then transfer. Even some top colleges recommend this for students who have limited finances. My daughter took a summer class at a community college to be transferred to her regular college and she had a very good professor as well as free on campus tutoring. A lot of students in her class where there to takes classes to transfer back to their regular colleges they attend the rest of the year.
@sejla Exactly1 I did the same except that I just never bothered going to a University. I learned what I wanted to learn in the Jer. college and that was enough for me.
It works for some people. My friend's husband started out at a box factory when he was young then he started getting training from various jobs. He's now a manager at a computer network support company (probably the wrong label) and supervises computer systems for hospitals all over the world with tech support in several countries. He works for a Japanese company in the U. S.
@sejla And, other people it doesn't work for. There's quite a few people with 4-year college degrees and they might as well paper their walls or line the bottom of the bird cage with them because it certainly doesn't help them get any work.
Proof? I'll tell you right now, a team of hostile lawyers spent 2 years investigating and they came up with nothing. So I imagine you have better information so let's hear it.
Go look it up dude. You know it, you just don't want to admit itREPUBLICANS, ARE CRIMINALS
Yeah? How do you explain California? It’s completely Democrat controlled and a shithole
Nah man you made the claim so the burden of proof is on you. You can't just make a claim and then put it on others to prove otherwise.
@LordSnuggles my God The failure of Democratic controlled California and their homeless and drug problems are all over the news but if you want proof here you go
Talking to the opinion owner. He claims Republicans are criminals I want proof.
@LordSnuggles oh sorry
It certainly is
wouldn't have surprised me if she hadn't been
Not always, cos R Kelly and Bill Cosby sure as hell didn't lol
I think so too
