Like taking heroin?
@Jesse0 If you want to accept the risks, have at it. It's your body and your life.
That's a very foolish philosophy
@Jesse0 That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. Maybe when you become an adult, you'll think differently.
So making murder illegal was a bad thing? Damn you society.
People die from cars, guns, dogs and alcohol Should we banned them as well?
@northwest Rider Cars and guns are tools, when utilized properly no one who didn’t deserve it gets hurt. Dogs are living creatures you can’t ban them any more than you can ban people. Recreational alcohol in my opinion should be banned because it’s only purpose is to allow people to self medicate and get shitfaced, neither of which is necessary or productive for society. The same logic applies to vaping and e cigaretes. Their original purpose was to help people quit smoking so as to reduce health risk. Newer studies are finding that vaping is just as addictive and physically worse for you than smoking. Therefore vaping and e-cigarettes don’t fulfill their intended purpose, and are left only with recreational purposes. You don’t fix a wildfire by making tsunami. Yeah it’ll put out the flames but it will cause just as much harm.
@Wharvey98 You lack any reality about history. For example, we banned alcohol before and man the crime rate went though the roof. When you banned something, you allow criminals and the black market to take over. This is also why Mexico is a mess with the drug cartels.
@northwest Rider And you are taking things out of context. I said in my opinion it should be. I didn’t say it was practical to do so, nor did I say it would have good results. I merely meant that on a conceptual level I agreed to it. Practically speaking any such undertaking would obviously be a nightmare. On a more practical note I hardly see a booming black market industry for vapes. And the goal of the ban wouldn’t be to stop people from getting them entirely. It would be to stop stupid teenagers from using them for no reason and dying at the age of 16.
@NorthwestRider friggin auto correct.
@Wharvey98 Yes because you place emotions over logical lol
@NorthwestRider so your telling me that if there was a safe practical way to ban alcohol that kept criminals from exploiting it you wouldn’t be for it?
@Wharvey98 I will not be for it because I believe in personal freedom and history shows a dark reality when you banned something
@northwest Rider Got it so we should abolish all laws. All they do is get in the way of personal freedom right? After all if people want to murder and rape and steal who are we to tell them that’s wrong?
@Wharvey98 Never get in politics, you are authoritarian and emotional Plus your views are super unpopular
@NorthwestRider Just applying your brand of “logic” to things. I hardly consider myself authoritarian. It’s the governments job to serve and protect the people. That includes from each other. Easiest way to protect people from alcohol related death is to ban alcohol. Obviously that’s not practical hence why I said I support it in principle. Just because something doesn’t work doesn’t make wrong in principle only wrong in practice. And I hardly see how I’ve been emotional at all during our interaction. If anything you’ve been having emotional reactions to what I’ve been saying. Regardless this is obviously going nowhere. It’s hard to debate someone who won’t address your arguments.
