Most Americans, and people worldwide actually die of heart disease, red meat is bad but smoking Tobacco is the worst you can do.
Cardiovascular disease is the number 1 killer, but saying most people die from it is not accurate. Around 31% of humans die from it. It's not just red meat. - Chicken, eggs and dairy also clog the arteries. Oil too. Basically all people have clogged arteries which is why basically everyone losses the ability to have erections. - except strict plant eaters, who are able to actually stop and often reverse cardiovascular disease progression.
