I meant no disrespect to the young lady. She is a very vocal opponent of air travel though.
so am i and it will be intersting to see the effects of less air travel given that the no fly enviroment we saw post 11/9 lead to a 1 degree reduction in American air temperature but do i think corona is a saviour for humanity? ofcourse not
MHO, for highlighting the humourous intent.
#amenThat is an awesome picture of her, I am happy because more people will see it

Because you know, it ain’t cool if a government and/or individual is cool with a virus spreading that can casually kill thousands, especially if there is no known cure for it
Media reports vary, but the BBC just reported a mortality rate of 0.7%, which is less than influenza.
WHO estimates about 3.4%, BBC says about 1-2%.Seasonal flu has a hospitalization rate of about 1% and death rate 0.1%But even then, that mortality rate is far higher for the elderly. How idiotic and irresponsible would it be for a government to just let a virus let loose that can kill 1% of the population, or like a few percent of the elderly?
Note that we can actually fight influenza and the seasonal flu, vaccines exist against them and they are pretty well understood.Corona is entirely new, which is the dangerous aspect of it
"In Italy, the coronavirus death toll jumped on Monday by 97 to 463. Infections in the country also increased to 9,172, up from 7,375 on Sunday"
Against advice from the CDC."NEW YORK (AP) — The White House overruled health officials who wanted to recommend that elderly and physically fragile Americans be advised not to fly on commercial airlines because of the new coronavirus, a federal official told The Associated Press. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention submitted the plan as a way of trying to control the virus, but White House officials ordered the air travel recommendation be removed, said the official who had direct knowledge of the plan. Trump administration officials have since suggested certain people should consider not traveling, but have stopped short of the stronger guidance sought by the CDC. Interesting. They’ve all been reporting recommendations that the elderly and those with certain medical conditions not travel anywhere, but there’s been no reporting I’ve seen that recommends against flying for the general population except to China and South Korea.
