The United States justice department is suing Walmart claiming they helped fuel the "opioid crisis". Do you feel like Walmart should be accountable?

There are a lot of dead Americans and a lot of greedy people/corporations. Let the chips fall where they may. Walmart is being accused of fueling it and now the evidence will come out. I have seen one thing that sounds like they did contribute to the issue. CEOs, other executives and Boards need to be held criminally liable depending on what happened at these companies. They must be made a harsh example of what happens when greed causes so many deaths, it is the only way to keep it from happening. They must be held personally responsible as this goes beyond business, stock price and quarterly earnings. They destroyed lives and families. People will feel the affects of this for generations through the children of those addicted and all that goes with living in such a situation at a young age.

Anyone responsible for its distribution should be. Everyone knew it was addictive. If Walmart is one of them then yes, but others should be prioritized, like the manufacturers. And any money gotten from these suits needs to go towards rehab and remunerating the victims.

Hopefully this lawsuit is directed at the pharmacists and medical professionals that worked for Walmart that are responsible. If it's only directed at Walmart proper, that would be like suing cows for people eating too much ice cream.
