A smell is not gender related is it?

I don't think so. I have read an article about a study where women were given 5 clothing articles to smell, all of which belonged to 5 different men (1 was of a close family member, either brother or father, and the rest were from random men). The women had to say whether they liked the smell or not (natural body scents of the men, not parfumes/sprays), and every woman found the clothes worn by either their brother or father to be repulsing.

We'll attraction to scent is dependence on a persons genes supposedly. I've heard it theorized (with evidence supposedly) as being a way for people to sense if their partners genes would work well with them. So yeah it's kind of sexual specific.
