My grandmothers taste... plain, there is no big wow-factor. I think she does this purposely since it’s served with every meal, she doesn’t want it to override the main dish.

My mother’s is sweet, she doesn’t make it for every meal but sometimes it’ll come out. I like my mums just a little more 🤣. I’m a sweet kid ya know.

I’ve noticed this isn’t just something within my family, but in others too. Sometimes there is plain/gritty, sweet, even I’ve seen people put weird meats in there like lobster I don't know what that’s about but ok lmaooo.

I like both of them but I choose oatmeal because I can't eat grits unless there's cheese and a couple of other things added to it and I can't stand when the grits are gritty. They have to be creamy🤷🏾 so I dont eat everybody's grits.

Personally, I think not. Yeah, the argument of but they only get paid minimum wage comes up but so is every other entry level job. They're not the only people who get yelled at by customers and forced to clean up horrendous messes, so why should they get tipped? If anything, people should change how they treat workers instead of paying more for them having to deal with them.

*and yes, some places do have a mandatory tip of 15% even if it's just a pickup order
