I wouldn't call myself a professional, far from it, but I can cook a wide array of meals - full roasts, to curries from scratch.

My other half can cook but he has a rule of three. If a meal has more than 3 components he can't cope bless him.

I asked him if I was the best cook of all his girlfriends (I learnt a while ago his mum is unbeatable... Even though she asks me how he likes things cooked - he's such a mummy's boy). He said he had to do the cooking for pretty much all his past girlfriends which to me I find mind blowing. I understand not everyone grew up knowing to cook but surely university sorts you?

I was lucky - my mum taught me to bake when I was about 2/3 and my dad taught me how to make main meals when I was about 12. I became my dads carer at 17 and I took over everything. I now do all the cooking in my home - accommodate my diabetic dad and my gluten free brother.

To me if you can't even do oven chips and chicken nuggets or toast it's mind blowing!!! Let's see the range on GAG.

It's a simple question.

Typically, I eat between 0 and 1000 calories in a day. (No judging please.)

It's the hottest day of the year so far here and getting hotter, and it's not even noon yet! The humidity is making things feel closer to 40 C. So I'm thinking about eating frozen sweet treats. I don't have the patience to get a bowl out - I want cold food right this instant! I have no qualms about eating right out of the carton, and neither does my husband. Of course, if we were sharing with others we wouldn't do that, but we're not. Lol.

So have you eaten ice cream right from the carton? (Yes you do, everyone has done this at some point in their life 😂).

Like my mom is always worrying about people eating too little. She thinks no meal should be below 600 calories, 500 at the VERY least. She acts this way whether we're eating a healthy meal, or a not so healthy meal. For example, on a not so healthy day if I were to make one of those frozen tv dinners for like 300 calories, she'd say "300 isn't enough, you should eat 2 of them." (But, seriously 2 of those dinners is like an abnormal amount right?) Or, another example would be a healthier meal. Like if she'd make chicken breast, peas, and baked potatoes, she's make everyone have 2 potatoes because "potatoes are healthy" and "that's not a lot of food". It's the same when we eat out (which is rare.) she refuses to order anyone smaller because the largest are "only 200-300 calories more". Like is this a crazy amount of food or what? by the way I'm not anorexic or under weight, I just think this is a crazy amount of food for one meal.

Like would you consider eating two sandwiches made with turkey or black forest ham, veggies, and whole grain bread too much/a lot of food for one meal? Or, is that a normal sized meal that could be healthy. Just wondering cause when I'm busy I'll often just make two sandwiches in the evening for dinner.
