I'm 20 years old, weigh 71kg and stand at 5 foot 10 inches. My goal is stronger and bigger arms and while it doesn't need to be "Washboard abs" I really want to lose my gut and "man boobs". I've also been advised to work on my legs to, so I don't end up being "top heavy". You might have guessed that I don't know too much about how it all works, but I try to.

Since June of last year (2017) I've been making huge changes in my diet and have tried various different workout routines. At first it was some weights in the back garden and I followed a 5x5 strong lifts app on my phone. But When I started my college course I joined their gym, told the staff my goals and asked if they could create a routine for me.

They did and i'd follow it for months. But as the days went by, I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere and became frustrated with my lack of progress. I was losing a little weight, but it felt like I wasn't getting any stronger.

So I payed for a personal trainer. He was a nice and after seeing what I was capable of, he recommended this:

MONDAY: CHEST AND TRICEPS: 3 X 8-12 Reps
Chest Press, Dumbbell pullovers, Flyes, Tricep extensions, Tri kickbacks, press-ups,
TUESDAY: LEGS AND CORE: 3 X 8-12 Reps
Squats, Leg press, Lunges, Bulgarian split squats, Leg extensions, Calf raises, Plank, Woodchops,
Alternate arm/leg raises,
WEDNESDAY: CARDIO: Steady state run/cycle/row OR HiiT
THURSDAY: BACK AND BICEPS: 3 X 8-12 Reps
Deadlift, Rear row, Bent over row, pullups, pulldown, Bicep curls, preacher curls, concentration curls,
FRIDAY: SHOULDERS:
Shoulder press, Arnold press, Lateral raises, frontal raises, Upright row,
SATURDAY: CARDIO: Steady state run/cycle/row OR HiiT
SUNDAY: Rest Day/Flexibility

After not getting anywhere for almost half a year, I could really use the reassurance that this will work. Without being rude, i'm not asking for people to suggest their own routines or what changes to make. I just want to know: Will I meet my goals by following this routine?

I started dating this absolutely amazing girl in 2013. By spring 2014 we were exclusive with each other. We broke up at the end of summer because she was Mormon and I wasn't. Plus her parents didn't like me for that reason alone.
In November 2015 I reached out to her after a dream of her, and after telling me her frustrations about our break up, she said she didn't want me in her life. A few months later, she reached out to me and after a few weeks of talking again, she revealed she decided to go on a mission, and I confessed my love for her. She and I got into a relationship again and even discussed marriage but she said she would accept for real when she returned. She left in December 2016.
Because of her departure and the mission, she broke things off and kept trying to convert me. My Mormon friend said that she's just on a religious high, and things may change when she comes home.
She comes home in a month, and I sent the letter after a few rewrites to her parents home. Because I was worried she would not receive the letter, I crwated a Facebook, and sent a digital copy to her Facebook account, both her missionary one and her original one.
The letter should arrive at the home in a few days, but I'm not sure or confident the message will reach her at all.

My stupid/brilliant idea is to send a message to her mom on Facebook simply asking her to give her my letter when she comes home. While saying I know I don't deserve such favor, but I don't want to make the same mistake over again from before. Saying that I made mistakes, and asking her to at least read the letter before discarding it so at least she knows how I feel about her daughter and what happened.
